Beater thread.

Post by askbob »

I put together an old stock motor beater for my kids to play around with. I let them paint over an old body I had, as you can see... :D After they get the hang of it, I have another all white parts gold pan to put together that will be much nicer to look at. This is the first hoopty I've built to play with, and I must admit it is quite fun. Err, fun for my kids that is.

Post up your cobbled up, thrown together, nice beater RC10, or other.

That car and even the paint looks better than my best RC10.

Still my favorite beater even though I went from a Mamba Max 5700 to a Johnson 540. On a completely unrelated note my wife threw away that vintage Big Johnson bottle koozie... said it was false advertising. :(

Well I was expecting to see nothing more than Bob in a wife beater sporting a mullet. I was shocked when I saw an RC10.

Pardon the return of an old thread, wanted to post this up but it took a bit.
My budget beater build. Nice and high ground clearance for off-roading down near the river. Fleabay Reedy SC700BL with a brand new 4900kv motor, b4 slipper mod, 6cell NIMH, Tower scratch-n-dent Tactic radio. Started out as the leftover parts from another ebay car, special thanks to mikea96 for most of the missing bits.
Good setup for being just a hair bonkers but not breaking everything instantly. All I ever ran BITD was stock motors and nicads, so it's plenty. Brushless is truly amazing...
Rollbar wire came from another Ebay car, works well. Destined to break....
