OK - so apart from the obvious (different paint job / wheels / wing brace) can any scorpion experts out there tell me what the difference is between the 2 cars? cheers muchly - lofty
Body, rims and tires, motor, shocks, bumper, speed control heat sink, gear diff on turbo, and I would swear I read the rod ends were stronger
It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas Factory Works website
Yep, the ball ends are 5.8mm on the Turbo and 4.8mm on the Scorpion. The Turbo's rear suspension plate is one piece and the Scorpion's is two pieces. Chris.
The gearboxes are different: the TS-box has three attach points for the shock tower and a casted ring around the outdrive to prevent dirt getting in behind the gear cower and early versions didn’t have dustcover behind the motor plate. Gear ratio is different. The TS has 10mm shocks instead of 8mm. The lock mechanism for the battery lid is different. The body, roller bar and cage, roof, radio box, wing and wing stay, drive hubs aluminum/steel, motor cover. There are probably more that I have foreseen.
I'm thinking that with the extra grunt that I'm going to be putting through my Turbo Scorpion drivetrain, I should look at putting the old gears in a bag and finding replacements of the same pitch or maybe even replacing with a different...

All the talk about Kyosho pulling the plug on any future re-releases convinced me to pull the trigger on another new TS. I reckon this one will go on the shelf.
I really hate all of the uncertainty we're seeing in the RC industry these days. Just...
Hey guys, I picked this up last week from A-main. Using their $30 discount code, I think it was around $225 shipped. I have a new original tomahawk but I bought it basically finished a few years back, so this was my first Kyosho build in my 30 years...
Only a mock-up for now to test how everything fit together....which is remarkably well. I was able to use existing holes on the rear arm mounting plate for the rear of the cage but they do push the main cage about 1/2 further ahead of the rear...

I have been thinking to do this my selves, so I will follow this closely :D
