Hi Keith.
Like yourself I also had an interest in the Gallop buggies. Over a period of time I tracked down a few cars plus a selection of new and lightly used parts so I could build up a couple of nice cars.
In the end I finished up with 2x Gallop Mk2 buggies and I have to say that I really like this model. Essentialy the last word in this series of 4WDS buggies the Gallop Mk2 really is the best of the bunch.
After finishing both cars I parted out what ever was left over and ended up with two very nice examples (one of which I recently sold). I still have one car and it is a very nice example. They rarely come up on eBay but if you keep a look out you never know.
For me the box art really is alluring and I simply had to have one. As for driving the car, well I wouldn't hold out any hopes of super performance as there's a good bit of drag in the drive train and the rear steering doesn't really help with high speed corners.
Still an awesome car to own wether it's for the shelf or a nostalgic runner.
Cheers-Jason
