Re: Cliff Lett RC10 Replica
Cool, did you spot anything obvious when you had it apart that might point to why it doesn't work?scr8p wrote:rewired the esc today. i was gonna install it, but the switch needs to be changed to the second version (the gray one). i was gonna let it go but i know it's wrong, and it's something that can be easily swapped (when i find one).

ya know.... i didn't even think about it, just swapped the wires and put it back together. i'll inspect it a little more when i crack it back open to change the switch.

Re: Cliff Lett RC10 Replica
Little update....
These are for two different cars obviously, this one and my rory cull replica. Both require a futaba s131sh servo. I had quite a hard time finding them. Well awhile back, sofaking offered to pull a brand new one from one of his shelfers for the lett replica (pictured right). Then justinspeed had one in the runner he just built, and I asked him if he'd be willing to trade that servo for another one. He said he had plenty of servos laying around, so he pulled it and sent it me.
Thanks again guys.

Got the battery assembled. Also cracked the esc back open to install the correct on/off switch and got it mounted in the car.

ok, i got the electronics all buttoned up. other than changing a couple screws when i get aluminum replacements, swap the zip tie on the esc from yellow to blue (at the receiver), and clean up a used gear cover until a new one comes along, the chassis is done. now i can get to work on the body and sourcing the rest of the decals.
this page from a booklet i saw on ebay a few year back was the inspiration for the build.
and here is a few shots from the race.

Guess instead of arguing you were building - good choice

This RC10 looks amazing , The nose is different to anything I have seen and the motor plate looks great too.My favourite of the gold pans so far.

Gotta be cool for someone like him to be asked to sign an RC car. Ya know, it's not like he was a famous baseball player, and is only known within a small group of RC people. I know it'd be cool for me if someone remembered something I did in the 80's and wanted my autograph.
Also, love that he used the Airtronics XL-2P, that was the radio I was running at the time, and still have two of them.
