RC10 wheel colours

Post by kink »

I have found lots of front RC10 wheels made by Associated in black. But no rears in black yet. I just wanted to check - did they make rears in black? (For the buggy, NOT the truck).

Thanks :)

Three piece, one piece, truck and buggy, front and rear were all made in black, yellow, and natural at one point. Just add a "B" or a "Y" to the part number for the colors

Thanks!

I have some 2.175" front three piece on the way now. So the front is sorted. I guess I can put 2.2" tyres on there as it is almost the same size.

Rears...

But if I wanted three piece rears it seem the TQ10 rear wheels were only 2". So I guess that limits me to ancient expensive tyres?

Or I could go for modern 2.2" B2 rear wheels as I already have spare B2 universal joints. Did the B2 rims come in black too?

yes, b2/b3 wheels are/were available in black. alternatively, you could dye white or yellow wheels black.

you can also use losi step pin 2.0" tires on tq rims:

you can also buy JC racing wheels that are 2.2" and fit on 1/4" axles, though they are 5 spoke. EDIT: Nevermind, I think you already have those based on pics in your other thread.

Thanks, very helpful !

Yes I am going for flush original aero / dished style wheels now. But they have to be black. Fronts are sorted. Whatever black rears pop up for sale I'll just get the correct tyres / UJs to match. Thanks again.

I wanna say there were some black buggy rears (not sure if 3 pc or not) in the b/s/t section awhile back. Would be at least on page 2 by now if not pruned. Can't remember who but remember thinkin I should pick them up before someone else did since I don't see black rear wheels as much as black front wheels. Might be worth a shot checkin some older forsale threads though...

Thanks but those have sold. If the buyer is not going to use them I'll pay a bonus :)

Does anyone know what REAR axle / wheel hole size the TQ10 has?

do you mean tq wheels, or the horizon TQ10 (rc10 buggy)?

in either case, they fit 1/4" axles.

no, the hole through is the size of a #8 thread OD, 0.164", or somewhere close to that. Then you have the taper on the reverse side that goes up to 1/4" in the pin area.

Thanks guys.

I am going to hold out for B2 wheels as I have a load of new MIP B2 CVDs now.
