Re: lazer zx
Hi Bully.
I have a ZX and I really like the stock body. However you can easily run the ZXR and ZXS bodyset without any hassles. I know there is also the Lazer Alpha and there may be some other aftermarket options available.
Please keep us up to date with your build.

Re: lazer zx
I think it does. From memory the difference between the ZX and ZXR chassis plate is not so much it's circumference as much as the cell placement. You will however need to remove some material to allow the repro underrated to fit as I have found the TBG items have shrunken on both the ZX and ZXR shells which I have recently purchased and fitted to my cars.
The ZXS might be the same deal too.

Re: lazer zx
Glad to offer advice where I can. Which ever shell and undertray you go with I think you'll most likely need to trim the chassis to allow fitment of the lexan undertray. It's more than a snug fit so you'll need to remove some material from the carbon chassis plate. I took a dremil to mine at the rear near the battery slots. You can see this for yourself when you place the undertray against the chassis plate.
I hope this helps you out. Cheers-Jason

Re: lazer zx
Thanks mate, i had similar issues with tbg cat 2000ec body an undertray, the undertray was cpl mm short in length making for a real tight fit.

Re: lazer zx
I had the exact same observations with the TBG Optima body. The Optima's rear shock tower just barely fits in front of a raised section of the body, and TBG's body that's a few millimeters short makes this fitment a royal pain in the ass.bully wrote:Thanks mate, i had similar issues with tbg cat 2000ec body an undertray, the undertray was cpl mm short in length making for a real tight fit.

Re: lazer zx
Kamtec do a zx-s shell and comes with undertray. Tight fit but looks super or buy a repro zxr undertray and buy the kamtec Parma tomcat bodyshell, which is what I use now. If you hold on for four months you should be able to buy a new carbon fibre tub chassis for the ZX / ZXR from Fibre lyte, once i am happy with the mold.

I checked b4 an was unsure if there was a 3racing set that fits or LA245 then u need new hexes is this right? Also trans feels tight could that be the new belts? Re: lazer zx
If the 3racing zx-5 ones work is it the front or rears u need? Thanks in advance guys
I have finally figured out the centre diff setup differences i think, heres what i learnt std is adjust nut on slipper side to send more drive to rear, tighten other side to send power to front. Or option two in the manual is the OT-88 asbestos disk to send more power to the rear an doesn't use the diff balls anymore. Option 3 is the LAW-4 drive hub which locks up the rear an still allows adjustment of other side to change power delivery to the front,,,Is this right??? Once i sort the driveshaft issue an sort body wing an undertray that should sort this one out i think.. Thanks alot everyone, anyone who can confirm about the 3racing cvd's would be greatly appreciated,or i will stick with kyosho 5061 or LA245 an get new hexes?

Re: lazer zx several questions
I would advise looking thru the last 30 or so pages on the vintage zx / zxr thread on oople as i listed all the part numbers for the rebuildable ujs. They are superb.
I bought two bones of LA232 and a complete pair of LA245. I then used a pair of axles i had by chance and fitted perfectly, however LA231.1 axle should do the job but would investigate what the part numbers are for the axles on LA245 as thats the correct size. Youll need to fit different hexes as youll need pins with these ujs.
La-232 is the straight fit for the front but is for a wider front and rear is LA245 which is narrower.

Re: lazer zx New questions
Belts shouldnt be tight so something isnt right.
Spurs well ive designed a couple and RW sells them. All depends on what your going to do with the car. Let me know and am always available to advise.
