i've disassembled and cleaned the parts on my other rc10 (it's the guinea pig before i tear down my personal rc10). it's not immaculate by any means, but it's certainly better.

i ordered a set of bearings from avid to replace all the bushings. so far i have been unable to get the "C" clips out of the axle gears, but i'll keep trying. the steering bellcrank was messed up, but i saw a mod on here using the traxxas bellcrank, so i'm gonna try that out. i ordered a hitech hs-645mg servo for it based on positive comments here on the board.

for the guinea pig buggy, since it's not totally stock i'm gonna take flip's advice and use some modern tech on it.

i saw these esc's:

anyone have any experience or thoughts on it? or, for $5 more, there's this one:

they both seems reasonably priced. are they overkill?

bumping this up for some opinions on esc/motor combos and transmitters.

i've searched here, on rctech and other random rc sites and there is so much information i'm pretty much at a standstill on what to do. paralysis by analysis, basically.

just to summarize, i have a couple gold pan rc10s with 6 gear trannies, neither are near shelf queen condition, so i just want to make them runners/bashers. i disassembled, cleaned, lubed and put in new ball bearings in both. i'm not planning on racing competitively or anything. so, assuming you have up to $250 to spend on these 3 components (esc, motor, transmitter), what are your choices and why? i'm so overwhelmed with info, i'll go with what's recommended here, lol  that's basically the hold up at this point b/c they're otherwise ready to run.

thanks for looking and helping! :)
