Well that was quite a haul..

Post by Y'ernat Al »

Got back home with the family last night after a summer trip to visit relatives.

San Diego => Minneapolis => Ontario via International Falls (Dryden) => Minneapolis/Burnsville/River Falls/Eagan => Portand Oregon => Battleground Washington => Bend Oregon => San Diego.

Kept looking out the airplane/rental car windows for RC tracks, but that was a too much of a whirlwind to stop anyways..

When I got back, I had this waiting for me on the doorstep. The next homebody project:

Cool, sorry we couldn't link up while you were here! Eagan is about 5 miles from me.

Yeah Adam between the Mall of America and all the family (Mom and Dad are both from south of the cities - Owatana and Montgomery), the dance card was full.

And we were in Portland overnight, en Route to Bend where I have inlaws. Did have time enought for us to lose our 4yo in Powell's book store though. That was actually scary until he came bounding down from the second floor saying he was LOOKING FOR LIGHTNING MCQUEEN BOOKS! I felt bad until the manager (who had made a "Peter Pan to the Exits" announcement just moments earlier - code for lock the place down - we have a lost kid) gave him a pair of stickers saying "I Got Lost in Powell's" and "I Got Found in Powell's". Evidently it happens  .

We have a book store? Lol j/k that's actually quite funny now that all is well but I bet you were sweating! Years ago he could have fallen thru a trap door and been taken via the shanghai tunnels to a ship and gone for good!

I live away from the crazyness that is Portland but close enough that I can go there if I feel the need

I've gotten lost in Powell's, too. But apparently it's not as big of a deal when a 40 year old gets lost there; no one made an announcement... ;) Hope you had a great trip! Minneapolis (where I lived for 10 years in the 90s/00s) and Portland (where I live now) are two of my favorite cities.

Looking forward to a resto thread on that Scorpion, too. The more of those I see, the more I like them.

You got it. I have quite a box of MIP/Race Prep/Thorp/CRP/RCH what-not that I've been accumulating over the past few years. I've been looking for a suitable ebay buy for a while too, and this one fit the bill perfectly. The workable Andy's body, RCH outers, and alloy rear cage made it worth the price of admission to me.

Now to find that "Removing Paint from a Scorpion Tub" thread I know I saw a while back.. 8)
