Welshy40's ZXR(S)
My ZXR, renamed by a writer at Racer mag as the Lazer ZXR-S. I started developing this in the mid 90's and tested properly in 2000 and recently and hate to say it but is much better than the newer cars in all aspects.
I have designed a proto spur gear, proto Lipo tray with Zimmer brass weights, my design chassis, top deck, shock towers front and rear, (pictures on car with white wheels), ZX steering system with the pure ten steering to aid strength and stop bump steer. I have also moved the servo further in board to aid handling so the servo saver made by Kimbrough is sitting half a mil from the belt. Lunsford Titanium rods all round, with associated ball joints, Traxxas TRX1 shocks with Schumacher springs. Teamline 7.5 degree front hubs with bearings to smooth and speed up the steering. Ultima RB type R rear hubs. ZX steering knuckle arms and my design carbon fibre servo plate. Cut out front gear box and modded rear gearbox internally and also got the pure ten diff in with ceramic balls and thrust balls for a super smooth diff. Shell s from ZX-S.
FYI all carbon fibre items are still available from fibre lyte in the UK, and shell including the Parma Tomcat is available from Kamtec in the UK. Wheels I use Annsman Mad Rat white wheels as pictured and are identical width / depth as the original Kyosho wheels but are slightly stiffer than the originals and are cheaper and look nicer. Belts are stll available from another company on ebay as well.
All my details of what I did are in the radiocontrolzone under the Lazer zx/ZXR ZXS alpha etc thread. Worth looking at.

I'm running the spur gear on my Lazer and its a great help for all Lazer owners. You've built an amazing car there.

Re: Welshy40's ZXR(S)
Thanks Welshy...according to the gear ratio calculator spreadsheet I made, either 20T or 21T would be your optimal pinion gear choices. I'm happy to add your info for the Lazers to my mostly Optima-based data.
