Very cool! I could not remember which Kyosho LeMans I owned, only remember that it was anodised red.. Now I see it was a 240S.
Man did I anger my parents over this motor lol. I had saved up my allowance and kept bugging my dad to order it for me from tower. He kept ignoring me. So I picked up the phone called tower and gave them his credit card. Later I went down stairs and handed him the money. He said what's this, I told him what I had done...
Lets just say I was grounded for a long time... Lol
Thanks fellas. Just missing a 360E. They only came in the Kyosho Turbo Scorpion. So it's like trying to find rocking horse poo. I wanted to collect the early Le Mans with the alloy faceplates and the two Spa motors. There's more to collect but I'll have to start another briefcase treasure chest.
It's funny how something so simple tends to take over. I started looking for only these early motors but now all the LeMans motors tend to catch my eye.
I just scored 2 very nice nib LeMans Super Pro motors. The Hi-Speed and Hi-Torque competition motors. Very nice high end looking pieces. We're these the last of the LeMans series?
Yep, you're dead right Jason. Start out thinking "just those ones" and it snowballs from there. I'm pretty sure the Super pro series were the last of the Le mans motors.
1300GT wrote:Thanks for the kind words you blokes. Unfortunately Fakiee, I don't have any of my old cars. No photos either. I own four buggies now, all bought in the last three years. I've attached another photo of my only other Le Mans motor. It's a 480T can, 480 Gold endbell (painted green) and a Parma 19x2 armature. It's bolted in my Tomahawk and still needs to be wired up. Enjoy, Chris.
Man, That looks spectacular! Currently, I have a LeMan's 360ST, but to match the color scheme of my Tomahawk, I am looking for a 480T. I like the way it looks on the Tomahawk too. Great collection you have, thank you for sharing!
Thanks fellas,
I saved that Le Mans collection picture onto a disk some time ago Integra.
Sampler box comes from the huge Whitmans chocolate sampler boxes you sometimes see in Woolworths.
I thought my collection was just like one, a good selection of varieties.
Hi,
I recently acquired one of these motors while looking for 240ST.
I've temporarily installed it in my Optima Mid restore car until i can find the correct one.
I tried it out in the yard early today, and was very impressed with it, albeit it...

One of my favorite images for vintage Kyosho motors:
I was finally able to get some restoration done on some incomplete Le Mans motors I had stashed in a Ziploc bag, with a big thanks and shout-out to Craig from New Zealand, cas22 on the forum. We traded some parts and what came my way--after a nearly...

For me, it's the 240SB. It's an absolute beast, I consider it the top dog, performance-wise, of the classic Le Mans motors. But I hear you, the brown anodized aluminum isn't quite as eye-catching as the red 240S. 8)
Had a cobra comm lathe, trinity motor machine, and several le mans motors years ago, when brushless came on the scene sold it all off! (never sell your cool shit)
Been miserable ever since. At that time i had a new 480t and 360gold, plus some used...
Can anyone please help me with a bit of Le Mans tech? I have recently restored my Turbo Scorpion, and have an Optima Pro project on the go now. I want to work out what ratios are suitable for the Le Mans and Spa motors that I...
I was looking over that image of all the Le Mans motors, in particular the rated voltage for each one, and was wondering what physically enables a motor like the 360 Gold for instance to use up to 8.4V but not the 480 Gold? Construction-wise, both...

You are right. I really think that info is not right.
Really any motor should handel 8.4v more so the Alloy end bells ones.
Too me the strongest motor i think is the 240SB the spa motors were no better as i raced them all.
I have this motor from many years ago. Can anyone provide info on it? I searched and I'm not coming up with anything. It's a kyosho le mans 360e. Thanks

The cox and Graupner came with a 540, only the kyosho branded ones were LeMans
Just got this nice Kyosho Le Mans 240S motor NIB. What makes the motor different is this was sold from German brand Robbe so different packaging also the label says Robbe instead of Kyosho.

It is a clip on iron tube for more torque and a Le Mans sticker with different design.
I love old stickers. :)
