Re: The NOS RC10GT build begins!
Almost there! New clutch bell & shoes should be here tomorrow, along with (hopefully) a piece of the natural color silicon exhaust tubing. Still in search of a rear bumper, but otherwise, she's complete!
No spiffy background, but here ya go:

Re: The NOS RC10GT build begins!
Definitely not. I'm not generally big on shelfers, but these white GTs are rare, and I have 3 other GTs plus a GT2 to play with (not to mention the other 11 kits). I spent way too much time, energy and money finding parts and cleaning to go thrash it.Is this going to be a runner?
I still plan to gradually swap in NOS parts as they become available, so maybe I'll build a white runner with the parts currently on it when they've all been replaced. But for now, all my drivers are black parts trucks.

Looks great!
I need to get some electronics in mine. Seeing yours is motivating me.
First gen tank would be cool. Not easy to find though.

Re: The NOS RC10GT build begins!
Not at all. I have a couple, but they're not resto material. Like so many other parts, I'll be watching and acquiring over the coming months and years.First gen tank would be cool. Not easy to find though.
Yeah, I had it this way because I stuck a pull start manifold on it while waiting for the non-PS NOS header to show up. Just forgot to correct that before pictures. The pipe holder should go in font of the stinger.

Re: The NOS RC10GT build begins!
Not worried about the mounts, I had ordered them before I scored this Picco non-PS engine. I thought the same flywheel was included in the PS & Non-PS kits? Or was that with blue chassis trucks? Also don't forget your non-ps engine mounts and flywheel
It was hard enough finding an NOS header that is correct for this truck!
Also, anyone know where to get the clear silicon exhaust tubing? The one that came in today was blue, despite the stock photo

Re: The NOS RC10GT build begins!
The non-ps mounts don't have the little kickup, that lowers the engine. This in turn requires a smaller Dia flywheel that is also slightly thicker.Sixtysixdeuce wrote:Not worried about the mounts, I had ordered them before I scored this Picco non-PS engine. A few close ups for reference.

got 15 or so of each p/s and non p/s hanging on the hooks at the LHS... a wanted thread works wonders around here for some of this stuff.Sixtysixdeuce wrote: It was hard enough finding an NOS header that is correct for this truck!
they also have the different mounts in multiples if you do get worried about it
As far as natural silicone I might have a few laying around.

Of the early 4-40 threaded ones? I can buy current production M3 thread non-PS manifolds all day long.got 15 or so of each p/s and non p/s hanging on the hooks at the LHS.
In that case, I'll start one for this elusive rear bumper.a wanted thread works wonders around here for some of this stuff

yes...doesn't have anything too new there for associated unless its an order in type thing.Sixtysixdeuce wrote:Of the early 4-40 threaded ones? .

Yep, someone might be able to help you out there. I moved it to the 'wanted forum' though . As for the elusive rear bumper in white...thats a hard one. Can't say I've seen a NIP one of those in the last 10 years or so . Mostly got alot of mechanicals for the gt that he ordered in for me way back when I got into these. The headers and motor mounts were parts of back order orders that got sent all at once...he didn't know re-ordering kept adding to his order from that particular supplier Had b2/b3 battery hold downs with them too...some have gone to this board

I need a B3 hold down, if he still has one. For now, I just zip tie and tell the wife to drive nice.Had b2/b3 battery hold downs with them too...some have gone to this board
I was too slow to get an NOS white 7529 last month on eBay; two of them went at $15/ea, but I missed them.
