OMG I hated that radio! I had one of those with my first RC a Tamiya Bigwig, I never felt like it was a good radio (the servos seemed sloow and weak) and when I got my next RC and a Futaba Magnum Sport I switched out the Challenger as soon as I could afford it! Sold it a few years ago and was shocked some one was willing to pay for it.

I understand collecting the old radios but I have to say I love the 2.4 radios all of my new builds get a 2.4 receiver that is bound to one remote... so nice to have 10 cars on one radio. (even though I never run any of my cars anymore)

Another favorite, the Cox/Sanwa Cadet stick radio.

Lovin the cox radios as of late. Just found this wheel radio I didn't even know they made. Says 1982 in the manual. Very nice system with dual rates and the first I've seen with crystals separate.

Here is one of my early radios, an Airtronics SR. I don't recall the gray colored receiver though?!

Waterproof....6 to 40 cells....programmable....and can handle dual cobalt motors
One baaaad boy vintage esc although the clod guys would probably like it better

That is one serious speed controller. I do not have a Clod big enough to hold 40 cells, but I would build one if I owned that! Nice addition to the crazy collection.

Zeta is hardcore, I am going to start searching for something simiiar. I have a chassis sitting off to the side that I can add five or six Clod axle sets to.

Neat stuff! You weren't kidding about having a ton of radios, were you? Actually I use the Alpina Beat 2 for my JRX2...

I just came across this thread and didn't realize the RCD Shredder receiver was considered vintage. I still own and use one of them. It has been a very reliable receiver over the years. It was the first receiver I bought outside of one that would be included with a radio, for that first time in my R/C life that I owned more than one vehicle. 8)

Interesting collection.

Hard to say, it probably has a damaged brake fet. The diode is internal on those so not much else it could be besides a damaged unit.
