Tamiya BigWig "1986" build #3
HI!... Well I'm starting BIGWIG build #3. Was cleaning the old RC shop the other day and came across a ton of parts I forgot I had. Some of them I don't even remember buying them or where they actually came from! LOL! Found a set of New BigWig Mooncraft wheels. I installed some older BigWig tires on them for now. The center chassis support needs to be replaced. The current one was modified by a previous owner to fit a larger ESC. I need to get some more bearings for the axles. I've got them too but can't put anything together until I get bearings. Here's a few pics :
Well I found some new bearings I didn't know I had. lol! Got the axles and wheels on tonight. Here's a few pics :
Well new BigWig body showed up today from TBG. Man this thing is thick. I like! :y:
Well a NIP BigWig MSC showed up this weekend. :woohoo: :y:
Well I got the Big Wig put all together. Now I just have to paint the body and find a resistor cover.
Well i got one of the "Dummy" 8.4 Volt battery packs installed. Still have to get around to painting the body.

Nice build, my first car was a BigWig. I had a love hate relationship with that car but finally in 2007 after 2 years I restored it (mostly just haven't bought a new body or bumper) and put it on the shelf. It was a fun car to drive, but at the time a hard car for a 12 year old to build and maintain. However that is the car that got me started all those years ago. One day I may bite the bullet and buy a NIB car just to build one "right"

HI!... Well I finally got around to painting the BigWig body.
I've already painted the driver, cockpit and applied the decals. I'll take some nice pics once I build my RC car photobooth again. Garage roof sprung a leak and wrecked my current one.

Nice Big Wig! Super, love all the original parts on it !
I own one sinds I was a kid and rebuild it recently with a few modern parts (LIPO, modern ESC, mild brushless).
I guess you are going to shelf it ?

OT, your image hosting Photobucket does not work for me on a Mac. I can see the enlarged photo for a couple of seconds then it goes blank! Flickr works well

HI!... Yes this will be a shelf queen. I have 3 BigWig's currently. 2 all originals, and one custom aluminum chassis one with LiPo and 5.5T, 6000KV BL motor. Just started working on a 4th one.broodenburg wrote:Nice Big Wig! Super, love all the original parts on it !

I love your cars, I'm very happy that your pictures are bigger and I don't have to click on each one!

X 2, and I really like the look of that body with the scoop and all. Pretty cool looking buggy! If they RE-RE'd that one I would buy it!slotcarrod wrote:I love your cars, I'm very happy that your pictures are bigger and I don't have to click on each one!
