Thinking about upgrading the dogbones on my b4.2rs to CVAs, the MIP kit is a little more expensive than the FT kit, but just a few bux, anyone have a compelling reason to go with one versus the other? They look about the same as far as I can tell. AE sells them both. Thanks.
Same difference on the track, same (good) manuf'ing quality. Get the cheaper one

Life is short. Waste it wisely.
Way back when, MIP supplied the CVD driveshafts for Associated's kits. Now they all have what Associated calls CVAs which are simply CVD joints that have swapped between the axles and shafts (not that this is news to anyone).
So why the switch? Is...

Now this is just speculation on my part, but I believe that Associated is making their own CVA's now to cut down on cost. I'm sure they were paying MIP for the parts at a discounted price in bulk. So I'm assuming to avoid issues with MIP's design...
Need some guidance. I have my vintage RC10 complete with MIP SP1 transmission along with the MIP CVDs. However, on the spur side I keep having the dog bone popping out. I have had to restrict the shock travel length in the rear to prevent...

Keep in mind the early Mip SP-4 outdrives for the SP-3 diff were short, and the later version SP-4 for the Pro & Plus diffs were a tad longer. The late version still fits the SP-3.

So i scrolled through all 10 pages of this forum (again) and searched (again) and cannot find this thread. Would someone who knows the thread (maybe I am looking for a more obvious title), please post a link to it, or help with my question.......

another observation about the thunder tiger parts. the rear a-arms have a bit of slop in them in both the outer and inner hinge pin holes.
So i've fitted my B2/B3 CVDs into my Worlds Car project along with the correct flanged bearings (from Avid) So that I can use the 2.2 B2/B3 wheels. Firstly it was obvious that there are not enough spacers in the MIP kit to take up all the play, so I...

Limiting shock travel (gold shocks) and putting 4 shims ASC7368 on the inside of an inner flanged bearing (3/16x3/8) were only thing that worked on mine when that happened - no CVDs - stock dogbones - popped up every time I hit a big bump - really a...
What pin cushions are recommended for use with MIP cvds in a 10T?
I want to minimize wear on the outdrives, especially considering that the outdrives may become discontinued in the future.

Has anyone managed to wear out some original old outdrives anyway?
i can't say i've ever worn out a pair of stock outdrives. i destroyed some universals, though.
the ones from my newly-retired Team Car are worn and chipped from hard...
I installed these rerelease worlds CVAs on my championship edition and they appear to be a little short. During the first run it popped out like this. Does it look like they are not set up correctly? Are people successfully using the worlds CVAs on...
