aluminum chassis spare parts build
I would like to show you all my custom aluminum chassis spare parts build.
My great friend/mentor, Fastang, assisted in this build, with parts he shared with me. He works at a water jet company that made it possible to cut this chassis. Together, we worked tirelessly to create this perfect TQ10 spare parts build. We are proud of how it turned out and I wanted to share it with everyone here.

I'd take a knife for some really good nachos.

Re: aluminum chassis spare parts build
That's some collection of spare parts. Great job on the build and that chassis.
Re: aluminum chassis spare parts build
Thats actually a piece of 6061 aluminum we cut on a water jet. We always intended on covering it with the CF. Jim (the owner of this car) forgot to mention we anodized the plate black so the screw holes and the edges would look right with the wrap. This car turned out really great!Bottom Feeder wrote:'Aluminum' chassis...?
We are actually thinking about doing more chassis replicas out of aluminum and make them available to the public. The CC worlds chassis comes to mind. It would give people the opertunity to run the car of their dreams without the worry of wrecking an original.

Ahhhh nice job on the aluminum twill!
It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas

Fastnag also forgot to mention I work at a metal fab./metal finishing company, so between the two of us we have access to get metal cut and anodized to our liking. Some of the white parts came from an early Cadillac RC10 I bought over a year ago. We had several ideas on what to do with it before deciding on this project. We are just stoked how well this has turned out, I can't wait until our next project(s) are finished.Bottom Feeder wrote:'Aluminum' chassis...?

Re: aluminum chassis spare parts build
It looks wonderful, the chassis pics fooled me! At first I thought "Oh, a different TQ chassis for the 25 Year thread!"

Nice, I was wondering where you had the carbon made up before I read too far in. Nice project and great idea. What's the chassis thickness?
