FYI for Video/Computer game, Arcade, Pinball Fans

Post by mytimac »

There is an awesome show coming up next month, April 11-13th in the Milwaukee Wisconsin area. It is called the Midwest Gaming Classic. Http://midwestgamingclassic.com. I have gone the last 5 years. Probably not be going this year though. I usually bring 2 pinball machines to share.

Admission gets you in to play arcade, console, computer and pinball games for NO additional cost. All the systems are set on free play. It is a really fun show with lots to see. There is old video game systems, and old computer systems. Stuff like Caleco, Atari, Apple II, and like every other system under the sun. But there is tons of new stuff as well. Then there is a huge vendor hall which this year is going to be in a large outdoor tent. This is great because they had been running out of room inside for all the Arcade and Pinball machines. There is even an area for the geekier tabletop gaming crowd. :)

Then Trackside is just a little ways away for RC racing. http://tracksideraceway.com

I grew up with console video games, starting when my uncle & aunt got the first one ever, Atari Pong. From there, we got the original Atari system, followed by Colecovision, then the Sega Genesis. I have so many good memories playing various games with my brothers & cousins on those consoles!

Yeah it is a great nostalgia trip to sit and play some of those old systems.
They get some really rarer systems at the show some times. And have some real fun with older games and systems.
Every year is a little different for old and rare systems.

They had one room last year that was just dedicated to arcade fighting games.

Having been into arcade/pinball machines my entire life, I'm glad they are still being honored in such a way.
