You can tell Summer is almost here when the fish are biting again. My 8 year old has finally taken an interest in fishing the lake. It is rarely fished so the Bass and Bluegill are pretty plentiful and on the prowl.

Not with a Rattle Snake- very venomous and very very quick. Not worth the risk. Any other non-venomous snake gets picked up with pine-cone grabbers and tossed into the woods (since they keep most venomous snakes away) but Rattles must die-

Yeah, rattlers are nothing to toy with. Better safe then sorry. They are also quite territory driven. If you do manage catch and release one, they will spend the rest of their life trying to get back to their home range (this is also quite stressful for them). Also, they often come in female/male pairs, so if you see one, there's a good chance a chance a second one is near by. -J
