XXX-T question

Post by Chillout47 »

I have some Trinity front hubs that I want to add to my Matt Francis XXX-T, but I am having trouble with the turnbuckles hitting the springs on the front shocks. The pivot ball on the Trinity unit is on the top, not on the side like the original kit plastic part which means the turnbuckles are angled backwards more. I hope someone already has these installed on a XXX truck and can tell me what I'm doing wrong!!
Cheers, Mark.

Yep, it's a bit difficult to picture I suppose without seeing it. I'll get the hubs on the truck tonight and get some detailed pictures posted. Thanks.

OK, here are the pics. On the pic with the normal hub you can see there is room between the spring and the rod, with the Trinity hub, its pressing right on the spring. I even changed the shock top mount back to the regular kit one to move the shock back slightly in the top pic, but the ally shock collar now rubs on the tower. Surely Trinity can't have designed them that badly???? I checked the Trinity blocks and there is no caster in them so it doesn't matter if I mounted them on the wrong side of the truck either.

Maybe it just aint gonna happen.....

Or alternatively let derision ensue as one of you points out something really obvious...

Cheers, Mark.

I did some googling myself and cant find anything on these. also I've never seen them before. Thats a good one..... only thing I can see is to locate shock bottom out farther. I just dont see this as an upgrade so far?

do they happen to have caster built in, and you need to swap left to right to bring the kingpin more upright? ***Nevermind, you answered that above******

that's all I got. otherwise, maybe you can use one of this funny offset ball cups that guys like jconcepts makes to have it angle around the shock.
