That's a beauty! I kept thinking, though, "Imagine how awesome it'd look if the shocks were gold..."

Oh man, the old High Roller. I've got one of these sitting in a box somewhere in need of being rebuilt. Only drove the thing a handful of times before disassembling it to dye the parts, then never got around to it.

Whatever you do, don't dye the parts if you're still considering it. The High Roller came in two versions. One with white plastics and one with black plastics. The white version was how they were originally produced until they switched over to black. The white version is worth more.

I've always loved the MRP High Roller. For some reason or other, I've always liked the weird ways of MRP. I wish we had more photos, videos and information about these trucks.

Yeah, good call on that one. I do have the one with the white parts, but after they had the molded flares instead of the rubber ones. Seeing this inspired me to dig out the truck from storage and start reassembling the truck last night. I managed to get the diffs all put together, but one of them is not working as expected. I'm guessing it needs shims, or is stripped a bit. The crown gear looked a little worse for wear. Looks like the tires are in good shape, minus one that isn't sealed. The body is in pretty good shape too, sans the not so skilled paint job I did when I got this thing back in my early teens. I'll have to take some pics once it starts coming together.

Made some progress on the build. Going to have to take the rear diff apart and see what can be done about the gears as they are not working properly. Thankfully I tracked down someone who has the file to print the gear I believe needs replacing. Here's how it's looking thus far.

This Beast is awesome, it looks like a latter days 'Pede! I didn't even know it existed, I don't think we had it in Europe back in the days...

I can't believe this tiny gear train lost in the middle of the picture could withstand to the torque to move such a monster

I think that was the (main) problem with these trucks.

Love your truck! Good luck with the gears!

That was one of the problems at least. It was a great concept but an overall poor execution unfortunately. We talked about the truck extensively over on ClodTalk around 11 years ago. One of the High Roller enthusiasts claimed they replaced the gears with metal ones but I don't remember if they went into specifics of where they got them from.

I think it may be time to find this bad boy a new home. I feel I may drop more time and money getting the gears molded/printed than I really want to invest at this time.
