Ever since the Hydrofoam (flying RC pickle-fork boat) came out around 2007, and then the quad-copters sometime after, you're seeing more and more concepts like that flying DeLorean. Frankly, if it's light enough, you could get pretty much any item to hover and fly rudimentarily by adding two or more props.

What DOES impress me is the creativity and modeling skills to make those very realistic vehicles, however.

Here's another example, the props actually pivot independently. Remember Avatar? 8)

The problem is, none of them really fly that well. :?

These are all awesome. That Delorean is an "aircraft" that I wouldn't mind having.
