Here's a few updates.

I found a rubber boot to fit the wide mouth carb and AE style filter.

Just waiting on shocks to arrive and another clutch set up.

Still a few more small details but slowly plugging ahead.

A small update,
The truck now sits on its own and is pretty much ready to go aside from the clutch still. The clutch I put on it will work but I'm not happy with the way the bell only engages 3/4 of the spur. I guess I'll have to keep trying untill I find something.

I can't wait to hear it run..... I'm thinking 1.74hp and 43,000 RPM will be a handful in a 2wd truck

I thought about buying yet another GT as there are a couple of cheap ones at the moment but decided against it. I ordered a GT2 clutch bell in hopes that it works, but for the meantime I think I will just throw an OS .15CV-RX in it just to run it.

The OS .15 has no more than half a gallon through it and is still like new. It still makes plenty of power and should run forever. The pull start also makes it more friendly to take to the park with minimal gear.

Any plans to paint that body RJ, I like it just the way she is. Its cool to see all the inner's.

I ordered 2 more cheap ST-15 bodies for a backup incase they dissapear, or just use a clear one for display. It will be painted box art for that nostalgic feeling while driving it

I won't be thrashing it so I think the tuck will remain in excellent shape, plus bodies will last quite a while too.

Well, I ran into a problem straight away that really put a damper on the situation

I forgot it has an aftermarket non-pull mount that only accepts non pull engines. Unfortunately I don't have standard mounts so the wait continues while I try to find one

Why would they disappear, they just started making them again. TBG makes RC10GT bodies, why not just use one of those?

I can only assume they have finite stock of ST15 bodies and won't be remaking them when they run out. It's nice to know you can still get TBG bodies though as a backup.

TBG = $30
ST15 = $17

Is the ST15 a perfect copy?

I think it's smaller then original as it slips inside an original, so it's probably the same size as a TBG body. I think it also has more detail then TBG. My only complaint would be the molded dimples for the body posts of the ST-15.

I'm pretty sure thats the ST-15 body pictured above.

I ordered a set of standard engine mounts but thought of a quick solution. I could swap the braced chassis mount with my original cure for the itch GT. It has a non-pull engine and is more of period correct race truck, which would suit the engine mount. The only problem it's a bit anno faded, or was black dyed at one stage.

Should I swap it out or wait?

Not positive it is the one you are talking about. But I believe you are talking about the trinity mount I had removed a lot of the blue from. I'm not a fan of the bling blue parts. But if it would get you running I would definitely switch it out. You already have some other killer examples of GT's in your collection.

Hey Todd, it's good to see you pop back in and you would be correct on the mount

I really wanted to use it but ended up swapping it over with the other truck. The .15CV-RX is now mounted and ready to go as soon as I make up some rotary carb linkage.

The black lid tank still bugs me so I've been on the lookout for a clear lid tank.
