RC10GB
Happy Holidays!
Thought I'd share a build I'm near the end of.
I was inspired by this build http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=30473
but then I saw this http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=29459&hilit=dual+sport+nitro and knew that was definitely the route I wanted to go.
My plan now is to have the chassis, nose plate and shocks anodized to match the gold as close as possible.
Also see if some skilled and kind soul with a cnc will be willing for me to commission them to cut a shock tower from the cad file I have.
Put the disc brake cam right way round.
Find the engine for pull start adapter. (Also see if I'm going to go with the Dynamite 12s motor I have hanging on it is really the best option)
Need to sort out the flywheel, clutch bell and spur gear.
Find a side exhaust pipe and associated trimmings.
Figure out the servo to servo saver arrangement.
Get some heavier shock oil (currently 30 weight all the way round. Probably to up that in the rear.)
Get a decent set of servos receiver and transmitter (battery for receiver and servos too.)
Figure out what body is going to fit on this.
Just kind of thinking out loud.
I would appreciate any comments or advice any of you might have.
I will make the shock tower cad file available to anyone who wants it. For now directly. Just let me know what format works best for you. And in the future perhaps it will be available here or on dropbox or anywhere else that is convenient.

Re: RC10GB
I found the viper was a great fit for mine. And what I did for the throttle brake servo was use a short servo with trimmed servo post. A had to bend the brake cam slightly to clear the body but it all fit under the body perfect. As for the exhaust I used a non PS engine and a small Paris racing pipe.
Keep up the good work, look forward to seeing the finished car.

Re: RC10GB
I started one....got 99% complete, motor wouldnt fire (probably something I did), local track stopped running nitro, pulled all the buggy stuff off and put it all back onto the original re-re worlds chassis and run it that way now. PM if you want to see anything.

Re: RC10GB
I'll give the viper body a look. Did you use a bump box? I'd love to use a pull start if I can get away with it. Probably will make the whole thing too tall for most buggy bodies though. You wouldnt happen to have any pics of what you have going would you?

Re: RC10GB
I'm starting to see the problem with mounting a buggy body on this.
I guess that's why the DS and Gt circumvent all that mess by just draping the whole thing over.
Also the DS chassis is shorter than the regular tub chassis it seems like. Might have to go with a GT chassis instead
I have never been any good with the lexan stuff so I think this is going to be the challenging part of this build. I want it to look really stock. Not just like it landed there like some ufo.
Definitely going to have to cut down those servo mounts for the throttle/brake and use a short servo like JK said. In fact every thing he said seems to be the way to go.
Going without a pull start will get things down as low as possible. which will help.
fitting the rear I have no idea. The cut outs for the shocks are totally in the wrong place.
But eventually I'm sure (hope) it will work out

Re: RC10GB
I only have a couple pictures left of the one I built. Here is the one with the body to give you an idea of the fitment I achieved on mine. I don't believe you'll be able to hide a PS exhaust very well under a buggy body as the manifold exits at a much higher angle.

Re: RC10GB
There you go! That looks perfect. Is that the DS chassis? Also what motor were you using? Also how did you mount those wing tubes? It really looks good. Oh and sorry I got confused earlier I meant you when referring to those mods.

Re: RC10GB
I used a reverse mounted electric bulkhead trimmed camber ears like the worlds. Made a carbon brace that mounted to the top forward holes of the trans and mounted my rear body mount to that. The engine was a CZZ and the chassis was a GT.

Re: RC10GB
Thanks, I'll probably follow suit on the gt chassis and the czz engine. I'd like t0 keep the ds/gt bulkhead if i can but reality will probably dictate different.
