So, the boy's bashing around has incurred another casualty. This time it was the front bulkhead, which gave way after a particularly nasty crash.
At least it's a fairly cheap part. Hopefully my LHS has it in stock.
Thinking about buying a smaller pinion gear (or maybe a larger spur) to limit the car's speed a bit and perhaps reduce some of the potential damage. Any thoughts on that?

Easiest way I have found to limit speed is to turn down the Throttle ATV Hi rate. By turning this down you can cap the top speed of a vehicle really easily. I do this for my 4 year old when he plays with his brothers 4.2RSvitamink wrote:So, the boy's bashing around has incurred another casualty. I agree, just use the transmitter to turn the power down - turn down the throttle End Point Adjustment, such that full trigger throw is only giving maybe 50% of available power.
I also use the EPA to decrease braking force to my liking, much easier than trying to re-program the parameters in the ESC itself...

If you are running brushless, consider a 21.5 motor. My son used one of these for several years with great success. I'd say the speed is around what a silver can RS540 would be. Also, I think T Bonz makes big ole honkin bumpers for the front and back.
