You could also shim it up. Place it in there so tight between the two mounts that it can't go anywhere. Maybe even re-enforce it with servo tape underneath. Trinity servo tape. It's the best! With the one locked down and the other so tight you'll be fine.

I'm going to contact Futaba. It was an expensive high torque servo so I'm going to do it justice and fix it properly the second time

I've never even used servo tabs. I cut them off to make the servo look neater and remove a bit of dead weight. At least with the RC cars I've built, servo tape was all that was required.

Most of the time that's fine, but under the heavy crawling conditions that servo sees it would never be enough.

it looks like it's sitting on a platform. can you use double sided tape to mount it to the platform?

New case, definitely. Some Futabas are interchangable

The first time I attempted to fix it I used double sided tape on the bottom and both sides and I also CA glued the tab back on. It worked for a little while when just hill climbing, but if I was to get into any kind of tight spot while crawling it would have just came off right away.

I emailed Futaba for a new case. I'm headed out on a cruise later in the week so there will be some down time anyway for waiting.

I've read many people who do serious racing recommend Shoe Goo, apparently even under the most rigorous of situations, that stuff holds a servo securely in place. I've never tried it, though...

I would think it would be a bitch to get off though. I think it's used to protect bodies too.

From my experience, shoe goo is flexible and works good for fixing bodies such as the rear end of the 10T body there it always breaks. Since it's flexible I'm not sure how well it would do against a high torque situation.
