Vintage Yokomo 834b
Vintage Yokomo 834b
After talking with my brother about our old RC cars and the fact that I have been working on an old RC10 that I purchased, he located an old Plano tackle box full of parts.
After opening this box I located some old Yokomo 834 parts. Anyways, I have got the bug to take the parts and build a complete car.
Can anyone here direct me to a good website where I could purchase some needed parts. I have been looking on Ebay, but there is not too much listed on that site. Thanks.....

Re: Vintage Yokomo 834b
you have an ambitious project there, stick around ask questions, get into the B/S/T section and you will have some more openings to finding some of the harder to find pieces. Other than that, these guys have set you on the best path to finding parts.
check ebay early and often as well.
I would first start with a manual if you can track it down, I believe I have seen one on this forum, so you can match part numbers to missing parts. Of course, you can sub in stuff as well, like shocks and such.
Custom works dominator used some 834b parts so there is another avenue to explore.

Not much to update here. I have been cleaning parts from the front end of the 834b.
Any ideas on the best way to clean bearings? Just a good wipe down do or should I soak then in anything?
Here are some of the parts that I have acquired.....

one way can be a rpm bearing cleaner. holds it in a housing, spey a rc cleaner into the tip. like perfomrance plus. Then add some bearing oil and spin to lubricate. One i do it.

The gearbox and belt guide are amongst the rarest parts! You are pretty much there.
