Second RC10DS Team DS?
Hello, I just bought this RC10DS, it's in overall good shape.
Really dirty, but it came with hard coated "team" shocks, universals, and full ball bearings.
Some rust, but nothing really bad.
Tires are in really really good shape.
The previous owner has put dif balls int the spur gear...and he used too long screws to hold it on the slipper, scuffing the inner plate deeply.
First, a full disassembly, next a nice cleaning.

Nice find and yes it appears to be a "team" version. What are your plans for it?

Clean it, rebuild it properlly with a Associated DS Mustang body (i have one and a repro sticker sheet).CruzinCustomz wrote:Nice find and yes it appears to be a "team" version. What are your plans for it?
It will be a runner, but only in vintage meetings with a mild brushed motor. For fast DS action, I have my brushless graphite runner.

Starting the rebuild of the DS. First the Stealth tranny,It's always a pleasure to rebuild a Stealth...except for the infamous World Car rerelease crappy stealth.
The car came with a "Star X" motor, I think it's a 27t Trinity motor, is it a good motor? I plan to run it, is a 26t pinion a good start for this kind of stock motor?

Tie rods are back from the rust.
Front end cleaned and rebuild, rod ends and plastic nuts were worn and have been replaced, but overall the car is in very good shape.

The rear is rebuild, the tiny universals are superb.
It's coming along nicely, still have to install electronic components.

Great progress on the DS!!!
I love that you included the other carbon fiber DS in the background for comparison. I remember when you built it and the way you incorporated the aluminum front brace support area from the original chassis onto the carbon. Of course the paint job was outstanding!
Cant wait to see how this progresses!

Thanks, as I can't use a 75mhz radio here in France, I decided to hide a 2.4ghz inside the Futaba case.
The GM V3R ESC is still working, wich is good news.
The DS Team is now clean.
The body is cut, still have to choose a paint scheme.

I've been trying to narrow down a paint scheme for my Mustang DS body as well. Check out this photo gallery of Trans-Am race cars of the era for inspiration:

Thank you for the link, I have made some research too and I found some inspiring designs. Too bad AE never made the "All Sports" stickers.

Hello, I finally painted the team DS with some kind of CE theme.
What do you think?
