Composite Craft RC10T - Dream Build

Composite Craft #10210 RC10T Pro Mod Double Decker Set. This is the version of the chassis I have wanted for a long time. I love the lines of the lower deck, and upper deck, which extends all the way forward and mounts with a custom brace. I feel very fortunate to have found a chassis set, correct & matching F&R towers, and matching rectangular battery strap. All in new condition.

A HUGE thanks to SofaKing for providing many of the parts that will make up this truck. I really appreciate all your help, and I look forward to seeing some of your upcoming builds. I hope this build does you proud.

Since this is the ultimate truck chassis, IMHO, the rest of the build needs to be top grade as well. I have nearly all the parts I am after. Currently, I am waiting on a hardware order, and then the build officially begins!

Here are some photos of the beautiful chassis and some assorted pieces. I am using MIP Lite Drives. I love how they are machined out, but I wanted to add some bling to them, so they got the polish treatment. This took some work because of all the intricate surfaces. I hope this adds a little something special to these rare drives.

I will do my best to provide an interesting build thread. Opinions and suggestions are always welcome.

Nice car! As I understand it (with both car and truck CC chassis) there are 2 versions. I had been told the version you posted (where the top deck ends before the steering) is the older version. I don't know if that is correct though. I think both versions are very cool, but I have always been crazy for the second version. That is why I am so excited to get this chassis. I have heard my version of the chassis referred to as the World's or Pro version? Is this correct? There seems to be far fewer of this version in the truck chassis. If anyone has more information to share, that would be great.

I applied some SC1 to prevent rust but that is a good idea too.

For the transmission brace, I was planning on using either a RPM or Jconcepts brace. I didn't even know there was a CC transmission brace made. I may look into that.

The arms, spindles, carriers, rear carriers, transmission, gear cover, etc will all be RPM.

Still awaiting the hardware order to arrive. However, I am still trying to decide which route to go on several areas.

Motor Plate - I have a new stock plate, and a new Jconcepts plate. I love the look of the Jconcepts but I want to keep this build vintage. However, this build deserves better than a plain stock motor plate. So, I think I will cut it, and possibly add some custom milling work. I am just working out what lines I want to create on the back, and how they will flow into the rounded lower motor guard.

Shocks - This is a set of new, Team RC10T shocks. I am still unsure if I want to use these, or go with something more custom.

Tires - RED Pro 92 Fuzzie tires in the rear, and RED Pro 55 narrow front tires up front. Wheels are still undecided, but I am thinking a set of Losi wheels (with the clear front covers) may look nice. I would need to modify the fronts, to bring their width to that of the AE skinny fronts. Any thoughts on this?

Much of the rest of the truck will be comprised of RPM parts. All new.

I don't think you will be able to modify the losi front wheels to fit narrow tires.....

Received the hardware order. I am using black anodized aluminum hardware. I'm going for the stealth, blacked out look. The 8-32 counter sunk screws I received do not fit flush on the chassis. I think I need the 100 degree instead of the 82 degree. It always seems to be the small details that hold up my builds...

I'm messing around with customizing the battery cup. Still not sure what I want to do.

Work on the motor plate is under way.

Finished the trimming of the motor and back plate. Still deciding if I should send them out to have them milled.

For the front mount of the top plate, I filed the rough sides and then polished the front hinge pin brace. I found some aluminum spacers the same diameter as the ends of the front aluminum chassis brace. They drop in each side of the bulkhead, and make for a very clean look. Too bad it will be mostly covered, lol.
