French RC track discovery
I have been viewing this track for a while but recently visited it again to take some up to date pictures and thought I would share them on here.
My wife and I have purchased a holiday home in the South of France in the last few years, and whilst driving about I had noticed what appeared to be an old rostrum in a field located opposite the local go-kart track. Upon closer inspection I saw it was actually an abandoned RC track. It was a little overgrown but when I walked it I saw some impressive jump series, various surfaces - gravelly clay, concrete, rubber matting and even a built-in cobblestone section on one corner! It is pretty local to our house, in fact that is an understatement, it is about a 5 minute walk away! It has some great facilities, purpose built brick and concrete rostrum with roof, and even covered pitting areas and concrete tables.
I had a scan on Google Earth and came up with a nice shot from above which shows you the scale of the place..... MASSIVE!!!
I then did a little digging and found an online forum for the club... it turns out they were actually intending to refurbish the track.
I was over there again last month and they have obviously been hard at it!!!!
I have spoken to the admin folks and gained permission to have a run... so at least now I have somewhere to practice when I am on holiday

Wow... That's really nice. But, I'd be getting a lot of exercise if I had to marshal myself.

nononooo. You have to spare your wife so she can bare many kids. Then you allways have marshalls in every corner

In that case the marshalls are 4 and 1 years old, so i'd better not crash!

Re: French RC track discovery
That's so cool to find that close , if you need kids I've got 4 now of useful ages between 13 and 28 , the 28 year old has 4 marshals of her own , we got you covered
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.
