New member's Worlds Runner
Hey,
New member here, been lurking for almost 2 years ! Finally got my Worlds runner / racer finisehd the way I like it . Also run an original BJ4, both cars done out in vintage decals (well, almost all period), and matching shells in the scheme I used to run back in the day (a little J.D.Beckwith in there). I know the BJ4 isn't vintage yet, but I chose it for being like how I remeber my original YZ10 visually and driving wise. Been out of RC for a long time, and after running these 2 today at my very local track, glad to be back ! Both cars caused quite a stir (probably because they're both pretty overpowered for the track). I'm Scottish btw, grew up in the UK, worked in Germany, then Japan, and back to Germany again. Just for the record. Here's some piccies ------ hope they come out OK.
Cheers ! - Nige.

Re: New member's Worlds Runner
VERY nice cars, love the paint jobs especially, but your RC10 doesn't seem to be a World's car, at least the most distinctive part (the chassis) is not milled, but you certainly have a Mirage body, which is the second most distinctive part welcome aboard dude, I'm sure you'll be addicted here in no time

Yeah right, I'm a bit tired after racing all day long under the sun, was very unlucky this Sunday in both 4 and 2wd classes well, that makes a Team Car then

Re: New member's Worlds Runner
Cheers guys !! Back to my youth with those paintjobs, looked wicked on the track. You're right about the worlds chassis, it is a worlds car, with added black parts,. The original milled chassis was pretty scratched up, and I had a nice clean team chassis, so I thought OK, I'll do it. Not too accurate period wise, but this is my runner to keep, I ain't selling this one on like I did with all the graphites and colored powder coated chassis like I stupidly did back in the day. The car came without a shell, and well, I just luuurve the viper. Did iot just to get running, still lookin' for a Turbo Mirage.
Just wanna say that the rides you guys have blew me away, amazing stuff. That got me back into it !
P.S. I'll post some other time about a custom RC10 carbon chassis made at Benneton F1 HQ way back when, I'll try and dig up some pics , if I have any !
Cheers !

Re: New member's Worlds Runner
how are the Tammy tires on the BJ4 working for ya?
I have a set mounted up for my XX4 and havent found a good place for them yet. A bit on the hard side.

Re: New member's Worlds Runner
Thanks for the comments !
HKP - The vintage decals are a real addiction for me, I far prefer the classic logos to anything today. I've been saving them for a while now, some are regular from ebay US, and some are from a guy here on Ebay Germany. I asked if he had any more stashed away, and we made a deal. Was really happy to get the Kiel decals, hard to find, they remind me of when Rory Cull and Drescher used to run Kiel + Reedy stuff.
Now, If I could only find some LAVco decals, they're rare ! Any ideas ?
Thanks for the tip on the Mirage too, I'll look into that.
JK Racing - The Tamiya tires were awful ! Total rubbish. The track I run on was open last weekend for the first time this year, so the grip was weird. Very very patchy. It was fun though just trying different tyres each run to see what works, - nothing seemed to because the conditions were so inconsistent (and Lipo and Novak 5.5 is a real handfull on loose dirt). Some cheapo tyres I had worked well. It's public holiday here on Thursday, so I'll be trying some Losi Ifmar studs as a starter. Can't wait ! I'll try and bring my camera this time ! Cheers guys.

Welcome to the board! Digging the vintage scheme! I remember those colors.
I too rock the BJ4WE and I really like it too! Can't wait to see the progress. What type of track are you racing on? I too race vintage indoor offroad on a blue-groove clay track.
