It has been a very long time since I last posted here. This week I picked up an RC10 off fleabay. I know some of things about it, 6 gear trans, A stamp from the top and, it has some of the MSC parts still with it. However, the front end plate is not stamped ae and has very short arms. It has a Losi 64 pitch spur. Something, as a Losi fan, I did not know they made. Car came from Southern California and is dyed red/purple respectfully. It has a Futaba rx and steering servo. I want to make sure I'm not tearing apart some famous lost race car before I start a rebuild on it. I have been in RC for some 30 years but don't remember ever seeing any of those front end parts on any other RC10s. I even raced a friends black pan back in the day. Thanks for looking. Sorry in advance for the upright video, bad background noise and hour long show.
I don't have pics I can upload here but I have pics and video on my IG (jessicas_2_car_garage) and YouTube (Jessica's 2 Car Garage) [youtube]https://youtu.be/pcZ8kr4GArk[youtube]

So I'm guessing no one cares? Cool, means I can do what I want with it then. No email back from AE about the car either. That must make it just a POS old toy then.

Hot Trick Parts Wide Nose and Shock Tower.
Looks like RPS Aluminum Steering Bellcranks.
Standard AE short front arms.
Cadillac isn't a type of car, it was the name of the street that it was produced on. Most RC10's through the B3 (?) were produced on Cadillac ave.
The white idle gears indicate that it (or they) is an earlier model, however they were still produced for several years.
I would leave you thank you but it seems that the update took that off. I know of the street names being nicknames having to do with when it was made. In that I'm just trying to find out if it was a very early car or a later one. More for my info. The closer it was made to my b-day (1982) the cooler it is to me.
Later short arm cars started to get "updates" like the 2 hole rear tower and even the 2nd series, short wing tube rear bulkheads. Shortly before the CE came out.
Update, I polished half of the front plate. Now, I remember why I hate polishing so much. It looks better but would still need an hour plus to make it right. I'm two and a half hours in already. With that said, I think I'm going to go back to my original plan of painting it. Sorry those of you that wanted it shinny, I don't have the time for that.
I'm refreshing my first RC car which happens to be a Gold pan A-stamp RC10 that I raced when I started out 30+ years ago. Prior to the re-build, the car was box stock. I have 2 questions:
1) Is there a simple upgrade to the dogbone's? Id like...

Hi there!
I could be wrong but if your A-stamp has 1/4 axels the part could be 6369.
Lexus knows Rc10s better than I but I thought it might be at least another part number to search for.
Good luck, fairly rare.
My first post. I had an RC10CE in 1991 that’s long gone. Tamiya rereleases rekindled my rc habit a couple of years ago, and I have my eyes on an RC10 resto project. (Also hoping they do a 40th reissue).
I found this yesterday that might be too...

Since i cant really do anything else, ive been working on the Tranny design. Still gotta mess with gear mesh and clearances a bit, but for a first print, i think it was really darn close.
I'll modify this Diff so it is sealed, and then I'll...
I found my very first RC car which I been drooling over on the shelf at LHS back in 1986-87 (not sure which year), know i was 15-16 years old when I finally had enough money saved to pluck it off the shelf at Pat's Hobbies in Oak...

Yeah guys. No parts pandering on the board. You wanna do that Facebook is the place for that
As for the lowering kit I agree with lonestar. You built it this way for your own reasons back then. It's in the car's pedigree. You could always...
Hey guys, posting up some pics of a build I have been putting together for a while now. Many of the vets here have helped me source things (thanks to you all). Here are some pics, hope you enjoy.

its been a blast building, thanks to everyone for you help and imput.
Hello, I was just looking at my rc10ds chassis, and noticed that it was stamped A on the bottom. It is black and I bought it new in package. It had no holes for the stealth and the battery cup holes were offset. The label on the chassis was the...

It could of been one of the optional colored chassis. I have a blue one that was not drilled for the stealth.
Just picked up this basket case from rctech for $30. I was surprised to find it was an A stamp chassis. Shame it has a lot of holes drilled. So I plan on making it a runner for my local indoor track with modern esc/motor and lipo battery setup....
I just restored my RC10 Championship Edition (B Stamp) that has not run since the early 90's
I swapped out most of the parts with matching aluminum, and still have the original parts (some broken)
I did a simple paint job to show off the gold pan....

Thanks for the clarification! Thats good news for me because all I have is a 6 gear and I can still build a correct representation of the CE.
