can TC 7.1 shock fit an rc10 DS

Post by JosephS »

Hello all,
I'm looking at getting different shocks to fit my goldpan rc10 DS conversion.
Will the tc7.1 shocks fit the rc10DS, or are they too short?
It seems that the stroke length is very close between the ds .35" and the tc 7.1 8mm . I don't know about the shock bodies, are the lengths and caps compatible?

It seems that the 7.1 shocks use an 11mm spring, and are bigger than the vcs 1/2/3 shocks and the tc3-7 shocks.

It seems that the VCS1/2/3 shocks should be a direct drop in. Would the tc3-7 shocks be the same

The DS uses 0.56 bodies and 0.35 shafts.

Thanks for that I am trying to figure out how the modern shocks would fit

11mm is .43 inches and 9mm is .35

does that mean the shock body is .43(11mm) long and has a final stroke of .35 (.9mm)? That 1/8" doesn't seem like it should break things.

The shock body is the same as the short arm RC10 fronts, with shorter shafts.

I think that the DS is ~2.25", eye to eye.
