Re: Losi XX4 Modern Racer build
^ RogueIV - Thanks. Cool looking brace you made. I have some carbon fiber 22-4 braces that I'm going to modify and try to make them work.

Re: Losi XX4 Modern Racer build
These are the Exotek 22-4 braces that I cut up to make work on the XX4. I still need to add some stops, and a few other small changes, but they already hold the batteries very secure. I removed the battery decals and wrapped them with faux carbon for looks and some protection.

I cut out and installed this Bittydesign wing. I also modified the stock wing mounts to accept wing washers and screws instead of body clips.
I also finished the rear swaybar links. Just waiting on my servo steering link to arrive.

Re: Losi XX4 Modern Racer build
JC Racing wheels and Schumacher rubber has been installed. Still working on the stance, and a few other things to come. Comments always welcome.

Never seen those before they look sharp though! I need to see if I can get those I just noticed they have JRX2 wheels too!
Consistency is the key I keep misplacing.

Re: Losi XX4 Modern Racer build
Thanks for sharing! Will definitely use this on my vintage racer.RogueIV wrote: ↑Wed Sep 14, 2022 10:10 pmYou should check out Schumacher CAT SX front arms they have a much stronger design and the same geometry as the originals. You just have to use slightly longer inner hinge pins.Lavigna wrote: ↑Sat Sep 10, 2022 9:36 pm ^ Retro RC - I believe these are Tough Racing or Bando belts.
I am using this Rusti Designs front aluminum bulkhead. I am so happy I ordered it when I did, as they are now going out of business, and all parts are sold out. It is very similar to the Trinity unit.
I realized that I had the carbon steering rack on backwards.
Front end is now bolted up, and towers are next. Just waiting on an order of Lunsford hardware.

Re: Losi XX4 Modern Racer build
I ordered some custom colored XX4 decals from MCI. There are some small printing mistakes, but otherwise I think they look great. The chrome doesn't show in the pictures too well.
I am still trying to decide on paint for this car.

Re: Losi XX4 Modern Racer build
I changed the rear arms back to graphite XX/XX4 arms.
I also installed a Rusti Designs rear pivot support. It is a nice piece made from thick carbon fiber and a printed piece. It's meant to prevent the pins from popping out during a crash.

Re: Losi XX4 Modern Racer build
A few final pieces, such as steering link and Dragon aluminum wing mounts.
