Repairing brushed motor ESCs
I have been hunting for a nice Tekin Titan ESC and took a chance on an untested unit. It passes power to the steering servo and the light indicates that the throttle calibration works, but it won't turn a motor. Does anyone know of someone that does ESC repairs? Any personal experience with their work? I hate to leave it as just being a paper weight. I'm a Novak guy but still respect a brute like this.

Re: Repairing brushed motor ESCs
coxbros knows of a fella in the UK who repairs them, supposedly does really good work I guess. A while back, we had tossed around the idea of sending some jalopied ESC's over the pond if we had enough of them to make shipping worth it.

I have at least 2 to send. Also a Novak 610 HRV. I still have a few units to checkout that might have another worth repairing.

Re: Repairing brushed motor ESCs
Sounds like the internal fuse is blown. The later Tekins used a external solder bridge as the fuse. At least the BEC circuit is ok.Frankentruck wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 8:57 am I have been hunting for a nice Tekin Titan ESC and took a chance on an untested unit. Re: Repairing brushed motor ESCs
I removed the leads so the top of the case could come off. It looks like this ESC was trying to toast marshmallows and make s'mores.
