What diameter piano wire for 1/10 stock car wing?

Post by GeneralZod »

What size piano wire is everyone using for 1/10 wing mounts? What size came with Bud's wing kits? I have 2mm but should I use 1.6mm? Any tools that would work bending this stuff?

I typically use .078, unless I can't get it through a particular wing mount. Then I'll use .062.

Thanks. Any advice on bending tool? I have a bench vise but not sure I can achieve decent results with it.

Same here.

I use long lineman's pliers. They have plenty of leverage and the jaws are good for forming square edges. They also have good cutting edges.

I get 0.062 music wire from the LHS. Usually three pieces, three feet long for a few dollars.
