Thanks for your kind words! I love this buggy and I need to thank my gas buggy specialist mate who suggested to me to put this scheme.

Some updates to this build - I've added some vintage Airtronics servos to put in place all the linkages and also finally found the Mugen Uno engine and EFRA-053 muffler to complete the build.

This buggy has its unique design language, in my opinion. Some Mugen optional parts from the Team version of the Athlete will be added.

Hey there, I was recently gifted a collection of retro cars... included was this rig. It came with the original box and everything. I have yet to get it running as I am new to Nitro!
Just when I thought I was getting the hang of the electric category.
The motor in mine will only start with bump box and I can't get it to catch well enough to turn over.
Anybody out there with any ideas?

That car is beautiful inside & out. Love the purple aluminum-nums! Did this come out before HPI started offering kits with purple alloy parts?

I reckon it was about the same time too that HPI did. I think the Athlete was the first 1/8 buggy from Mugen to use purple parts.

Some updates to my Athlete Team - basically more purple parts! I changed the orange heatsink head of the Mugen UNO engine to a purple one from a REX 350, installed Mugen's purple 3P flywheel and replaced the linkage stoppers with purple ones from RC Square. The wheel locking nuts were replaced with Mugen's competition disc variant.

I love this build, and the extra purple parts look great. Especially the special wheel disc nuts. They look perfect! This is a stunning build. Thanks for sharing!
