Tamiya Hornet, with all vintage with vintage upgrades, collected from a variety of sources over the years: blue-anodized oil shocks (front and rear), blue-anodized nerf bars, and blue-anodized rear sway bar, kydex front and rear bumpers (I haven't seen the rear anywhere else). Wheels are silver chrome covers on proline black wheels (rear) and silver painted Tamiya wheels (front). Rear tires are Prostar tractors. Front are vintage Tamiya 4.50 - 15 smoothies. Electronics include Japan Remote Control Co NER-102 receiver, JR NES-507 servo, Dynamite Power Pulse ESC, and a new plain stock motor with a Novak sticker (came to me this way).
I can't claim credit for the "King Cobra" livery body (which was an unexpected and lucky find along with an old beat up RC10 I bought off craigslist), but its in great shape and I really like how red color and copper accents (all painted) combine with the blue anodized parts. I had this car for while and was planning to paint a new body when I came across that one!
cheers!

Re: ** Build of the Month Contest - June 2024 ** - Winner - Frankentruck
Summer 1993. A Works91 in little used condition was for sale at the local hobby store where me and my best friend came regularly for a visit after school. Normally they sold Tamiya stuff only. From first view this Works impressed me like a spaceship. But unfortunatelly not my parents. Thinks got even worse: my best friend got green light to buy it. In August we both competed in a buggy race at our hometown, Heilbronn/Germany. His spaceship agains my Super Astute. We both were far from the top, but his car looked so much cooler and the drivetrain sounded so much smoother. After that, due to lack of money, he maintained it by tape, wire and superglue. Heavily worn out he sold it after he bougt a used YZ10 ´94 a year later from a team driver. Now, 30 Years later it's time to strike back: bought my car round about 2016. I equipped it exactly the same way my friend did: Novak HPc, Reedy Ultra 12 turn quad wind, Futaba Receiver, Futaba Standard Servo. Only the battery I used for my photos is a (better looking) Sanyo 1700 SCE while we used in 1993 black N-SCRCs. The (replica) body I bought years later, already painted, ready to install. The battery I hunted 2 weeks ago. I believe now it's ready to be shown finally.

The engineering in that lay down shock setup has my vote anyone can do a period yoke with enough time and money, but there’s no substitute for design talent like that
Don’t get me wrong that yoke is awesome

I wanted to vote for that Blackfoot so bad, but that rc10 setup just blew away. Well done Frankentruck! BOTY just got really interesting.

The month is still early. There are a bunch more votes that have not been cast yet.
My son thinks the race driver sitting on the battery box is awesome! He'd go straight to that rally car if it was on the shelf in my home. That FXT belongs in a Futaba sales brochure. It even has a nice set of the rare as hen's teeth wheels. The Hornet has the rare blue aluminum nerf bars my friends and I always wanted (would have gone on my Traxxas Cat). The Yoke is a nice racer package and isn't another green Masami car (even though those are cool!). Yo Ko Mo! The Team Moo 10T is how I'd love my future rere 10T to turn out. And the Blackfoot has all the upgrades needed to make it a serious runner, and look at that shine! There's a really nice variety of well executed RCs this month. I'm really proud of my build but the other entries are some seriously cool rigs.
