It might not rip off because the hitch is bolted into the back of the truck as well as the edge of the tailgate, what is more likely to happen is the tailgate will collapse, sending it and the trailer into the tarmac. The end results would be rush hour traffic held at a standstill while clean-up crews are out with dustpans to pick up the remains of the trailer ... And a sponge for the driver of the Blazer.

i learned the hard way... in high school i tried to tow my grandpa's 3/4ton chevy home from town with my old firebird. just me and a towbar, nobody in the truck helping with slowing down. in town it was ok, but the 6.5 miles of hilly dirt roads nearly gave me a heart attack. i can still remember the first time i needed to slow down to make a turn and realized the mistake i had made...

I see all too often that John Q Public doesn't understand and respect the theory of mass times velocity (aka momentum). Which is the sole reason why I personally don't screw with 18 wheelers or trains.

Some people need to learn some things for themselves! LOL I had a little thing happen in high school when I was taking a trailer home that I had built. I thought it would be fun to slide the trailer around on the gravel road. The first corner I pitched it on cured me of ever trying it again! While nothing bad happened, it was quite obvious that the van I was towing the trailer with was not nearly heavy or strong enough (empty Dodge cargo van with a 318 ...   ) to hold the trailer while it danced. After I cleaned out my shorts, I slowed down and drove the rest of the way home like a normal person! LOL

Can't say as I'd have tried to hook a 5th wheel to my tailgate though.

A few years ago I sold and installed trailer hitches and a guy wanted a class III hitch for a 92 Mustang. I kindly told him that no one even made a class III for that and he got all pissed off at me and told me that it had the 5 liter with plenty of power to pull the trailer! Just for XXXXX and giggles I asked him what kind of trailer and he said a car trailer for his Mustang drag car! WOW!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, I just want to apologize for the foul language I used in the above post. It was brought to my attention by a mod and corrected by him so no one has to read this vulgar. I realize I offended many of you and again I'm sorry! I thought with Obama elected we have changed, but I guess we're still the same old censored country we always were. My bad!

Thats all for now. I'm going to go wash my mouth out with soap and then listen to the replay of Howard Stern and Bubba the Love Sponge on my Sirius radio before I go to bed.

Have a good night all,
Stang
