Frog project from spare parts
Frog project from spare parts
I have a ton of parts from auctions I have won over the past several months and being the type of person who can't throw anything away I decided to see if I could put some of them to good use. I have had the two black rear rims for a while and I recently won the front rims with the cool Pro Line waffle tread tires that are on them. All four rims needed a lot of sanding on the edges to get all the curb rash out. I started with 320 grit and worked up to 12000 to get a sheen back on them. Not perfect but I think they came out great. I also spent a little time polishing some of the aluminum parts so they wouldn't be so dull. I rescued the servos out of a frog chassis that is waiting for it's turn. This chassis is actually a Blackfoot that I stripped a lot of tan paint off of. It just didn't clean up very nice so it got paint. I used Krylon Fusion Satin to spray the chassis. The rear shocks came off an old Tamiya Astute Chassis I had kicking around - I have no idea where they came from originally. Anyway, i have a few items to finish up. I'm painting up the driver and I need to finish the electrics. I also have a set of bearings soaking to see if they will loosen up. I obviously need to get a body as well. Not bad for a pile of used parts, huh? Anyway, let me know what you think so far.

Re: Frog project from spare parts
Looks nice. The frog was my first car I had to put together and race. I will pick up a new kit one day when I got 150$ and just don't need anything else that day....

Thanks for the compliments guys. I'll post some more pics with the driver and shell when they're done.
