this company carries XL type timing belts: https://sdp-si.com/eStore/
the number 254 doe not seem to indicate the number of teeth: I only count about 129???
The narrowest belt in this pitch and teethcount is 6mm, so it would need trimming. The price is a little over 5 dollar a piece for less than 25.
Maybe better get the 8 mm width and make 2 out of one
254 is the length of the belt from one end to the other (uncut) in mm. And getting the belt cut to the correct width seems to be the problem everywhere I have gone.

I thought so too, but I measuerd it and only had 156mm
When I checked the shop in the link, it turned out the belt in XL pitch, with 129 grooves measures 155.8mm.
hi guys, normally timing belts are cut to width at your request, when companys are making timing belts they produce about a 300mm to 400mm sleeve, this is what they normally stock on there shelves, you the end user would order the belt and they should cut it to whatever width you want. if you have any problems i can most likely source this from Australia. I have a LWB Optima that i can measure the belt for you if needed.
I think the shop I put up is only a distributor; selling what they can get from the producers catalog.
I am set for the moment; have 2, not 3 but 2's enough for now.
I might take you up on the offer another time though: got a turbo optima coming also and am thinking of making it LWB too
Still want to build a 4x4 trackmaster too; which is a whole different pitch again... too many 4wd's in my head lately
I stand corrected!! The 254 mark on the belt is the length, but total length in inches. So the total length of the belt is 25.4 inches. And thank you Erik, the supplier you posted was very helpful.
And you can email them about specific width´s and they do ship internationaly i think 25 dollars is minimum order.
they fixed belts for the Kyosho lazer.
Maybe this has been stated before but my lhs guy told me these are all copy machine drive belts at least that's what they were or are made for. Very interesting.
I am building an Optima Mid LWB. It is an SWB to LWB conversion.
I apparently have an Optima Mid Custom Special graphite chassis and an LWB belt.
I checked that the belt has 127 teeth and is apparently the correct length (one groove is...

Yes, later! Unfortunately I don't have a PC with a card reader here so I cannot post photos before I get back home :)
Also I'll open a new thread for this Optima Mid project.
After all the restoration projects almost finished I've come up with the idea of creating an Optima rally car. A big reason for this particular combo is that I've got an original Kyosho Citroën ZX body unpainted and with N.I.P scale accessories....

Nah, the shock tower itself, I already have the plastic body mount. The only difference is it has the lower holes to mount the front shocks lower down. Otherwise they're exactly the same as normal Mid shock towers (as far as I'm aware).
I am new on the forum hi everyone
I got an old Special Custom with the gold flat aluminum or steel chassis.
I have no upper deck.
Chassis could maybe be run this way but has a bit of flex.
Can a Lazer zxr upper deck work?

This FactoryWorks upper chassis plate is awesome! Thanks so much!

On the 8th of February, which is today, I raced my LWB mid in the 4WD class. as you all know the vintage class is non existent here, so I had to pit my Mid against all the modern cars. In total we had 15 guys racing today.
The competition consisted...

Ok after about 2 years of R & D, which included the testing and eventual ruling out of the twin belt system on the Optima Mid, I am glad to announce the success of my 48P conversion. Special thanks to Linus from Sweden who worked with me to suggest...

I have a Turbo Optima mid. I believe it’s the SWB version. Would you be able to tell me what other accessories I would need to get to adapt the 48P conversion? Is it only a question of getting the LWB baseplate?
I found this chassis lurking in my pile of optima parts. I can't seem to find good source of what optima mid model it came with or if it was some kind of after market chassis.
First I thought it belonged to the Optima Mid Custom Special but when...

Tanks for your input.
I restored my OMCS with the graphite version as it was more rare. I would also replace the alloy chassis on my OMC if I could.
For runners I prefer to craft my own chassis so that I'm not dependent on original- or expensive...
I plan to start the build of my Turbo Optima Mid Special and am looking for pictures of period airbrush bodies or pro pics for inspiration regarding the paint job. Any help appreciated !
