Which slipper clutch have you mated to your custom top shaft? I would definitely be interested in your mods for my Pro Radiant.

hi mate, I would be interested in those parts, I’ve also working on making repro Boost bodies, I’ve got the female mould made, now I need to make the male mould, then I’m in business, I’ll keep you posted if you are interested.

Hey Bullfrog I'll get started on a top shaft and a motor heat sink A boost body would be sweet. I do have a stock top shaft but no stock spur.I did have a ball diff but I can't find it right now but im looking. Are you building a runner or shelf queen.




Aaron I am using a rc 10 slipper but I found that a schumacher slipper will work the best. but anything that fits a 4 mm shaft will work.

Tony firstly I'd like to compliment you on such an awesome r/c track. Mate you are soo lucky and Im sure the envy of everyone here.
Secondly its great to see another AYK buggy out in open. There are a few of us here in Australia that are currently working on or have these cars up and going. Its been a hard slog getting as far as we have but its all been a whole lot of fun. Your Pro Radiant looks super and Im wondering what it drives like?
Also how did you make the slipper set up? Are there any closer pics you might share? Thankyou- Jason.

Kyosho had a similar solution at one time. Worked pretty good expect they used aluminum pinions.

hey Tony, i'm building a runner and down the track, hopefully put together a shelf queen, like Bormac said, there's a few of us in Australia putting these buggies together, should be good to see them all running together, hopefully i'll be able to get mine running in the next couple of months,

Well here are some pics of the slipper ,motor heat sink and some adjustable top arms I'm working on. Some would say I'm lucky Jason but you guys and your get togethers and friendships that's lucky.I can run all day on my track but with out other guys that want to run vintage like we all do it's not as fun. on the slipper I used a schumacher disk with a 4 by 8 bearing and 1 brass washer 1 steel washer to slip on like the later stealth had. I'm not sure how the top arms will work I hope they hold up

Thankyou for the pics of the slipper Tony. I was thinking of running a Schumacher slipper set up but wasnt sure which shaft to use. Did you custom make your shaft?

I didn't know schumacher used metric sizes for its axles and bearings?
I could use a slipper disc and axle like this one for 1 or 2 projects

How can you use a standard bearing and some washers to replace a pressure bearing? could be interesting too

Yup! the original stealth slipper had thrust bearings then they changed to a brass washer to replace the bearing. I thought at the time that they had gone cheep on use but it worked well this is a pic of the slipper off my rc 10 ds

Hey Jason yes I made my on shaft it is a 4mm all the way through I used a traxxas spring a 4 by 8 mm bearing and steel brass steel washers like the stealth ds used

Tony it looks like you have put quite a bit of thought into all of this. I would be super greatful for one of those shafts.
We have another BIG vintage race meeting next month and I have been trying to get my Boost ready in time. Unfortunately Im not that big of a fan of the 32dp gearing it currently has but with a slipper and 48dp gear this car will rock! After receiving the slipper shaft from Tony I found that it allowed the body to touch the spur (Im using a different body-BOOST) and Ive slammed my body shell as low as it can possibly go on my chassis- . At the same time I had an old WASP slipper which I recently got from Jimbo which goes right on to the old shaft and PRESTO!. I was lucky enough to have a nice selection of original spurs nip too so now this unit will stay on this car. Thankyou to Tony for the slipper shaft , Ive figured I can easily run it on my Mini Mustang though so everything has worked out well.
Ive test driven the car out front of my house and its way cool. Cant wait to run it in the 4WD mod class at the up and coming vintage meeting

Glad you could use the shaft. are you going to run the radiant shock tower on the front and how is it different in handling from the boost tower?

your car looks great.
