i've noticed in previous posts that you seem to roll "big boy toys" and "ascot" together as if they're the same company. i've never seen or read anything... anywhere... that shows they are. bbt made the vindicator and the desperado. ascot/rcrc made the challenger.

Those wheels look killer. From what I understand Ascot and BBT are two different companies. Great looking sprint either way.

Re: BBT vindicator project
thanks scr8p I thought they were one in the same, Now I have some questions on the ascot how many different variations were made cause I have to here for the rc10 I know they did one for the losi and one for traxxas? Who came 1st BBT OR ASCOT because these both look almost identicle very little difference so who copied who?scr8p wrote:i've noticed in previous posts that you seem to roll "big boy toys" and "ascot" together as if they're the same company. i've never seen or read anything... anywhere... that shows they are. bbt made the vindicator and the desperado. ascot/rcrc made the challenger.

Re: BBT vindicator project
i'm pretty sure bbt came out first, but it was really close... timeline wise. the ascot was actually "rcrc" only, until they moved shop to the old ascot race track. then it became the ascot conversion. the story is something like that.
i'm think there was only 2 styles of the ascot sprint conversion that were for 3 different cars. the rc10, jrx2, and the ultima. there might have been one for traxxas vehicles too, but i can't say i've see one.

Re: BBT vindicator project
I think I bought my Ascot kit in 88 or 89 not really sure. I think there might have been a unique serial number on the box but I can't remember for sure and I do recall Cary Agajanian's name was on the box and he was also the promoter at the old Ascot Park racetrack in Gardena?, Calif. Just a bit of useless trivia.

Re: BBT vindicator project
There was an ad on the site not long ago showing BBT did an ultima conversion kit, maybe you mixed them up?scr8p wrote:i'm think there was only 2 styles of the ascot sprint conversion that were for 3 different cars. the rc10, jrx2, and the ultima. there might have been one for traxxas vehicles too, but i can't say i've see one.

Re: BBT vindicator project
I was referring to Murphy's post: with the ad which shows Ascot did a JRx2, rc10 and traxxas.scr8p wrote:bbt had a conversion for the rc10, jrx2, and ultima too.
As there 's no mention on the ASCOT ad about an Ultima, but there is an ultima in the BBT ad I thought you maybe mixed them up.
An innocent but rather stupid idea in hindthought; considering your definitely wiser on the sprint arena than me
