i'll most definitely run the stinky pinky again, prolly the rpm10t too.
what about a 4linked clod in heavy metal?
i had a blast last year. i learned ALOT about what to focus on and all that.
mark, there's a day or two beforehand where we can setup and practice right? this newbie needs all the track time he can get.

Mostly want to see pictures and know which suspension arms etc you used. In the reincarnation I used tamiya arms but in the second reincarnation I returned to using works 91 arms. Either way I ended up using a pair of kyosho axles and a pair of tamiya dogbones/CVD's.Mark Westerfield wrote:bscotti wanted to know what parts I used on the Yokomo as well, I'll try to get the kyosho cv axle #'s, wheel #'s today or tomarrow.
That car will be going to Bill Cline soon I think...

a clodzilla 2 would fit in the "94 and older" template. maybe even a zilla 3.badhoopty wrote:what about a 4linked clod in heavy metal?

I set up a wireless internet router so you guys can use laptops in the pits, see me at the track for setup information.
Also I set up a computer trackside with the latest Tekin and Castlelink software for speed control tuning. Handy for looking up speed control manuals on the internet too.
Next I'm working on a Tv, Vcr, Dvd setup to keep the kiddies distracted.
Mark.

hey mark, have you ever seen this thing called ustream?
http://www.ustream.tv/get-started
bumps and jumps used it during the Custom Works USOWC race in february. i thought it was a great idea, that way guys that were unable to attend could still see all of the live action. there's also a live chat you can participate in as well.

Might be a stretch, but it sure would be cool to get LiveRC.com to cover the event.

Re: 2009 Vintage Off Road Nationals !!!! -- Tentatively Schedule
Ok I stumbled on this thread so please excuse me for not reading 9 pages on my iPhone. The race is going to be held at rchr again but this year it will be the weekend of Sept 18-20th. The cutoff will remain 1994 (plans for the future concerning any questions about when newer cars become "vintage" is that eventually I'll add a new class for them). I picked 94 originally because it seemed to be a very change in car design from there on out, not because of how long ago it was.
I'm working on sponsors now and hopefully a few additions to this years program including a saturday morning flea market where people can rent table space and sell their stuff. Also working on food for this year... I think but sunday last year we were all tired of pizza and chinese LOL. The other beauty of moving the race a few weeks is it won't be 90 degrees with 180 percent humidity LOL. Last two weeks of Sept to the first two in Oct are the BEST time to ever be in this part of New England bar none. I'll be posting more info in an official 09 Vintage Nats thread real soon!
Just wanted to add that any rule or entry fee questions or anything involving that sort of thing are best directed to me. Mark and Jon host the event at their track and do an AMAZING job, but I put the race together myself and will continue to.

Re: 2009 Vintage Off Road Nationals !!!! -- Tentatively Schedule
If the Fiance can go to Korea for 3 wks, I think i should get to attend the V-Nats.
Id love to see a "True" Vintage class of Silver can sealed motors (perhaps 20t traxxas stinger motors) and a 1500 stick pack in 6gear based transmissions, stock tires! ESC and Radio can be current. Bonus if you use vintage electrics.
IF I can make it out for the event, my biggest thing is deciding what to bring. Potentially 3 cars for racing. Buggy, Truck, and maybe a true vintage. I loved the pics from last years event. It would be awesome to meet some of you in person.

If anybody is interested in See's wheels, let me know. I will be letting them go for less than what they've been going for on the bay.

Re: 2009 Vintage Off Road Nationals !!!! -- Tentatively Schedule
LiveRc is not really that big of a stretch I'm sure.... If you want Brandon to come out and do event coverage then maybe it is. But you can also have the free track coverage, which is very feasable. Not quite the glam of having Brandon do the event, but its a start in the right direction.
Gonna try and do this one. We'll see. The date change is definately more feasable for me.
