Swapped out most of the screws for matching ones and tried my first test drive , nothing ! Checked I had matching crystals in the old 27meg radio RX and TX and I noticed the plug for the crystal in the RX was loose , it had come unsoldered so a quick dab of solder and tried again and success ! All worked perfectly but not as fast as I'd like so I'm going to look into my choices , I can either try to find a bigger pinion or there are upgrade motors sold for these gearboxes that don't cost a fortune .
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

Paint arrived so i can get that started later , I've also found some better motors Mabuchi RS380SH that should give a little more speed and a couple of 12t pinions instead of 10t , I'm not looking for fast just nippy as they should be , the regular red upgrade motors are 390's and too long to fit in my hull plus they are £35 delivered and the Mabuchi's are only £6.67 the pair delivered !
More soon .

Absolutely incredible! I'm blown away!!
To think this began as spools of plastic thread - it's simply awesome.
Congratulations Dadio, your 3d modeling and building skills have reached the stratosphere. Is there anything you can't make?

A few more details , firstly a steering wheel but also a back storage box and steps , both need painting , a shovel and some captured Jerrycans (by Alexby on Thingiverse )in a wood box .
I started dirtying it up as well as staining the wood parts .

The paint arrived yesterday so I was able to paint the storage box on the back and the rear steps and stick them on , also finished a rough copy of the radio that was used in the war , i used a clear resin to print it then painted all but the dials , its hollow and i fitted an LED inside connected to what would have been the headlight circuit so the dials light up , quite pleased with it but i think I'll add a resistor inline as its a bit too bright .

I think a model this nice deserves a running video - at least a short video.

Happy Birthday, Dadio. :D

I will post a video , every time I think of making one something else arrives in the post and it gets torn down again , I've got new motors that should pep it up a bit and I have some 12t pinions to replace the 10t pinions but I also needed pinion adapter's.......... Anyway once its all fitted it should be a bit less ploddy and make for better viewing , well maybe because I'll be at the camera and sticks ....

Wow, this is so cool. Feels like a good BOTM contender. 8)

Ha ha , well it is 27meg and running brushed motors but no , not really in the spirit of the BOTM contest .

Think this is cosmetically finished , I just need to swap out the motors and fit the larger pinions and i think that will be it , I'll stick it on Thingiverse and My Mini Factory for anybody with a patience to assemble it but it might take a while as I'll have to include instructions .
