So let me get this straight. To use a B4/T4 slipper on the RPM trans you buy this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320597908211 and switch the gears between topshafts?

I was thinking of freezing spray (duster can upside-down) on the shaft, and some heat on the gear (a la butane torch/heat gun) to try to help get the gear off? Or does that method only work if one has dry ice?

I've never done something like that before!

I believe if you the right stuff and patience and also the skills, this would look like a piece of cake, but for me i think it would be difficult. :-)

I suppose how I would try it is to buy one of the many gear pullers off of eBay. If the gear wouldn't come off with the puller alone I might gently heat the gear with a butane torch. Then to press it on the new shaft I would start it by hand and then use the vise and a hammer. I would open the vise jaws just enough to let the shaft through but not the gear. I would then spray some WD-40 or equivalent on the shaft and gently tap it with the hammer until it went through the gear to where it needed to be.

all you should need is a vice, and some small sockets and round stock to push in the appropriate areas, and just press the gear off one, then press the gear onto the new shaft.....
