Would AE be Ford and Losi GM? :?
The RC10 would probably be the 5.0L Mustang--ranging anywhere from '79 to '93 with minor changes. :)

Hmmm...Tasty.
Yeah,Associated would have to be Ford and Losi,to me,wouldn't be GM,they'd be Mopar.
To be exact,a '70 Hemi 'Cuda,in Sassygrass Green. :D

I had an RC10 that started stock and I had modded it up every week by mowing lawns. $15 a week doesn't go very far! In the end I finally had a graphite chassis, andy's arms all around, Novak T4 ESC and Novak receiver. I started with the servo/rheostat style speed control. I bought new motors, batteries, etc. I was proud of that car. When the JRX2 first came out, I got one. I forgot all about the RC10. Right out of the box the JRX2 was easily my modded RC10's equal. Over time I changed it until it ended up basically being a JRX-Pro. H-arm rears, longer composite chassis, long front shocks etc. That's the way the car is today and I wish it were completely original again. That's a goal I will shoot for over time. To me that was my favorite setup of the day. I was one of the few at the track that didn't run an RC10 and to me that was cool. I liked being different. I only raced the JRX2 once and got a 1st with it. The RC10 I raced many times and never did better than a 3rd. I even got 2nd in a stock A main with a Tamiya Fox once!

Today I'm fixing up/modding an old RC10, the JRX, and a XX and suddenly all of my time is on the RC10. Go figure! I'm finding that being older and smarter that I can set the car up much better now and that car has been tons of fun. I do like running the older cars against the newer ones. Again, it's different.

I don't know if I can choose one manufacturer over the other. I like each but for different reasons.

For me the rc10 is like the factory five cobra . Two sweet rides and many ways to go as far as hop-ups.

The cool thing about the JRX2 and every other Losi of the JRX era,is they came with all the goodies right from factory.

i guess it's all about how you came into the hobby and what you raced/bashed as a kid.

i have equal love for early losi, tamiya and all ae. the xx was really cool, i loved mine, but anything newer especially the rtr's they make do nothing for me.

1/24 scale? really? silly if you ask me.

but the jrx2/jrxt/pro/pro se were some wonderfull cars.

Right on.
I could afford nothing but Tamiya,as a kid,but finally got a Turbo Ultima. :D
Got the Losi bug from Bearrickster!
Those RTR 1/24th scale cars are toys.
Shame on Horizon Hobby for sullying the Losi name with RTR toy crap.

Losi and the parts . It seems that when they discontinue a kit the parts are hard to find. The bk xxx blue parts are hard to find.

My first car was an RC-10 and when I saw my first JRX-2, I thought it looked cheap. They could run/out run the six gear RC-10 on the track but something about the Losi plastic didn't do anything for me.

After 25 years, I still own my original RC-10 and a JRX-2 sprint car conversion (bought 3-4 years ago). They each have their good and bad points, but the JRX-2 still looks cheap.

Without Team Losi and the JRX2/JRXT,the RC10/RC10T would have languished on with the same design for years.
Who knows how long it would have taken them to release the B2,without Losi!?!

Losi thought on a different level than AE and it showed in the race results of the time.
The 5 link rear suspension of the JRX2 is what got me wanting one...Now my shelves are filled with vintage Losi'.

If you want to get rid of that Street Weapon, that's the only car missing from my Losi JRX-XX shelf queen collection.

Tell me my JRX2 doesn't move ya?
The JRX2 is the only Losi buggy I'd ever obtain. :)

I can't speak for the vintage stuff but my first true rc was my Desert Truck and it rocks. Maybe I think so simply because it's just that, my first. I now own 4 Losi's and have no problem with them other than not having as many hop up parts as they make for traxass.
  • Losi Desert Truck (my basher)
  • Losi Strike (still in the box)
  • Losi Mini Baja (a blast in the sand!)
  • Losi Micro Crawler (4x4 indoors!)

Everyone gets a chance to throw their hard-earned into the pool, so I'll have a go.

To be honest, the early Losi stuff leaves me flat too. I have no interest to add any JRX stuff to my collection / pile. This could be because, of the era, I prefer the Schumacher Cougar... I've had RC10s as well, but most of them have moved on...

Track forward a few years, though, and I do have a soft spot for my XX. Possibly because it was a cheap, ex-racer car. Possibly because it has some blue bits. Most probably, though, because I just put a battery in it, put it on the ground, and then bash the living snot out of it! Next to my original Cougar2, possibly my most used rc car. Only ever had two problems, a screw backing out, and a servo gear busting.... the car is strong as an ox! Could possibly use some maintenance now.... but we all know that's not like me.....

I also have a XXX or two, and I like those as well, as they're simple, yet strong, and perform really well. I would prefer a different servo mounting mechanism, but that's just me. I guess the difference for me with the XX and XXX is that, at the time, the 2wd buggies from Schuey were the Cougar 2000 and the Fireblade. I have one of each, but they don't do a lot for me. I have a pile of B2 and B3 chassis and parts, which I'll get to one day, but the interest level is lower than necessary.

Thankfully, we're allowed to have differing opinions to others, without being crucified for it. Yet.

The XX series were awesome.
Especially this particular XX-The XX CR Kinwald Edition.A car that contained every hop up that deserved being there.
Factory loaded and great value...And indeed, strong as an ox! 8)
