Thanks! Cant wait to get it and do a complete tear down. My only concern is that the add states that the drive train is locked up. I'm hoping that its just the motor not something in the gears.

ROH73 wrote:The Big Grizzly's USA distribution began through Varicom/Hobby Shack in mid 1986; it was released slightly earlier than that in Japan by it's actual manufacturer, Playtron. The only difference between the two versions are the decals and box in which Varicom and Playtron are swapped. By design, the Big Grizzly could never, ever go in water (no matter if the tires float or not - they probably do) and I have never seen an add, etc. saying it could. However, by design, the MRP High Roller (released in 1988) could go in water. Advertisements touted this and RCCA drove it in water during its January 1989 track report.
So I guess this means Playtron made all the Panda line as well?

I don't know for sure, but I don't think so. The only other cars I'm sure that Playtron made are the Doberman and the Lynx. They're basically the same cars, but the Lynx is 4wd.

I got my Big Grizzly today, I must say it will be a perfect shelf queen. It is almost flawless except for a broken rear trailing arm. It looks like I will be looking for a parts truck. I'm not sure I will fit it with any radio gear it looks like it would break very easily. I cant help but to want to run it aleast once.

How come Playtron never made a car called the Poodle? Now THAT would be badass.

Just take a Doberman and paint it pink. Add a bowtie. :P

Glue some cotton balls on it as well for the full poodle effect.

Curb rash?

You...you evil monster! The Poodle(TM) only takes part in body competitions and some rare exhibition races, in preparation for which it has weekly sessions with the body groomer who washes its plasticy exterior with highly exquisite sticker-friendly shampoo and carefully trims its tires to perfectly fit the regulations! If it is raced, it has to run ahead of the pack so they don't sully its gleaming exterior, showcasing its superiority to that common street trash by stealing the hearts of the public! :|
