Dang, I love the andys bodies but they usually don't come cheap either.

Thanks to Phin I now have some more "era correct" arms on her. The body is a spare I had from TBG and doesn't fit the front chassis but will work until a better fitting body is found

A proline class one body may also fit but if one shows up on eBay you better hope it slips by me.

You could also try a Yoke body or eschew a buggy body and go for something like an old McAllister/AE Toyota stadium truck body or a wide sedan body. If you can find one, Parma made a BMW body for off road buggies that would be pretty appropriate to put on a trailing arm chassis.

But that rear upper shock position must be wrong.

In which pic? I swapped it along the way and in the current position it is finally not rubbing
I agree it looks funny on the back side of the tower but it does fit better and keeps the shock from binding

Update, thanks to Phin I was able to get my hands on a MIP mono shock mount to copy. I cut a camber tower out of a JG tower, and now I just need to round up a 1.32 bottom load shock body to complete the build. I love the funky stuff, and a mono shock is right up my alley

I'm still not feeling the jammin tower. It just looks too new. I am trying to decide where to go with it. I have a hot trick that may do the job. Hmmmm

I was happy to not cut it. I think it will have a pretty good (weird) look to it when it's done

If anyone has the instructions I would love to see the recommended setup. I'm pretty sure they ran without the anti-rock bar but it has so much movement without it, I'm not sure.

I was also wondering how well the MIP kit worked back then. I tried making a crude mono-shock setup on a parts RC10 last year, but it just seemed too sloppy and nothing stayed in place when the suspension moved.

I heard they worked....on some tracks even one of the Dunns had a pivoting front tower on his radiant once (can't recall the race) to function as a mono shock would. From my understanding they would look funny in mid air as one tire would hang down and the other would be level. The sway bar helps control it but may not be the way to go? I will be using a lighter oil, 15-20ish as the 30 in this new shock is way too much dampening

The mono shock went the way of the trailing arm as tracks changed. Nowadays it probably wouldn't be a great setup but I love it

I got my batch of black anno back and I'm happy the shocks turned out well. Sort of an "MIP" look.

i wouldn't say that mono shocks worked in some conditions, they rarely worked. (kinda like anything hot trick)
i really think the only reason this setup was invented was because it could be invented.
anything that could be done, was done in the 80's and 90's.

trailing arms on the other hand did work very well for our conditions.

the mono looked neat but that was about as good as it got. neat for an odd build but nothing you really wanted to run.

still, that car looks bad ass.

really like the way that car turned out, I think changing the rear wheels helped it out even more, looks great
