Doh! Good to know, thanks for taking one for the team

Did you try it cold first and then hot or did you let it heat up first? From what I have done the heat makes it work a lot better but it takes a while to heat.

The other super important thing that I picked up at harbor freight was the 5 piece airbrush cleaning kit. Has a few different diameter brushes that work great along with the cleaner. Cost 1.99

Using the expensive adapter, one would retain the clutch which is pointless with an ESC and electric motor BUT would look cool. :D

If you get rid of your engine mounts completely you will need to find a different way to brace your chassis. The stock engine mounts also act as a chassis brace. That guy should have made the mount a hair longer and made it so it can bolt to the chassis in front of the motor.

It would be like running your truck without the nose tubes.

i picked this up for the brace /alum tranny, tranny brace , and the front bumper

Image

but i should be ok

im using the a main chassis and i did a test fit if i drill 2 holes in the mounts i bought i can screw it to where the original brace mounts to the upper frame
and i also cut down a rear motor mount so i could still have the support under the trans

yes... BUT it's a turnkey solution to transform older nitro cars to electric... not just the GT, but you can imagine ANY car being converted, from Landjump to Presto!!!

Keep your fingers away from the keyboard, I'm hijacking this thread! We need to talk about this adapter more... this ad states for use with 2.5 or 3.3 class Traxxas engines. I don't know anything about Traxxas engines, do they have a different bolt patten then OS or others? The second link has more pics.

as long as the traxxas 3.3 is a small block it should be the same as every other small block motor

the only problem i see is with the clustch and clutch bell

you may have to make a 3.3 trx motor clutch and bell work in the car you are wanting to convert

thats why in the end i went with the cheao motor mounts for the gt brushless conversions
