Thanks Todd, Funny how time flies. For the project i almost went nitro....but it was the rear engine similarity you mentioned that changed the direction of the project.

It was easy, the subject line was titled Porsche DS, lol.
You mentioned using Porsche body and I mentioned I had a Tamiya Porsche that was just a bit too small for the DS.

I'll take slammed stance photos soon. I just got my tripod replaced

Sorry about that lmw94002, I never mentioned them in the thread.

Those are GPM aluminum DS arms. They came with a roller i got from Canada a few years ago.

Unfortunately I haven't seen them for sale anywhere.

Im on the look out for a set of silver aluminum front arms so i can complete the set with the rears i have. The waiting continues

I've got 3 DS rollers (and a bunch of parts) I've been holding for a project ... but I've never seen aluminum DS arms. I'd love to get a set of those for sure.

Thanks! It was a fun project. Always wanted to use that Tamiya body. It was awesome to use it on the DS, a rear engine car. It will keep handling similar to real Porsche.

I used that body on my nTC3 brushless rally conversion. Kept the Martini livery but just went white on the paint. It looked good, but yours is worlds apart.

Looks great!!! You know i almost went for a white paint with red bumper area but then decided to keep it silver Like in the Tamiya ads.

I just found and finished uploading more build photos of the porsche to my flickr account.

Hey there Mr DS_King! I have Tamiya Porsche 934 Turbo RSR Vaillant-Kremer body and would love to use it on a DS but I have several questions for you:
- By how many mm is the DS chassis too long for this body? If possible I would like to shorten a regular RC10 chassis to get it to the correct wheelbase. The Tamiya Porsche wheelbase is 236mm where the DS is 260mm, correct? Which would mean I should shave off 24mm of a stock RC10 chassis?
- Has the Tamiya 934 body a wider stance that this one? If so by how many mm front and rear?
- Is there any other alternative chassis?

The Tamiya 934 body is 230mm. The RSR body in this thread is 252mm. No clue on the wheelbase of the DS but you could always get GomachV to cut you a chassis that could correct the wheelbase.

Hey Asso_man! The DS is 257mm to 260mm depending on where you place the rear axle spacer. shodog provided the body wheelbases. I've only delt with the Porsche body i used on this DS so i cant compare with the other tamiya body. Im not sure how you would shave off the 24mm but like shodog suggested, you may need to have one custom made/cut. i left chassis alone and worked on making the body fit the chassis rather than making the chassis fit the body. i want to keep option of using other bodies open.
