Nice work on the mods. So is that for the rear so you will have rear drive as well?

That's the new final drive gear for the new trans I'm making. It will still be a three gear trans to keep it FWD but the final drive ratio will be 1.04:1, had to make it three gear instead of two large gears for motor/top shaft gear clearance reasons. I want to make the new trans side plates out of .25" alum but I don't have the CAD/machining capabilities. Just have to go with delrin so I can make it by hand much easier.

No updates yet. Been working a lot of OT lately. Kinda taking a break from RC for the winter too. Trying to put some extra money away.

Thanks for the tips and advise Brandon. And honestly when I had this project in my head I thought I was going to have major traction issues. I had the whole plan of using a lot of space to get up to speed. To my surprise even on 6s power I'm not having that much traction issues. I would guess within the first hundred feet I'm full throttle with little/no wheelspin. This leads me to believe the nose of the car is plenty heavy. I just need to add rear downforce to keep the rear in check. And now the more I think of it maybe the extra downforce from the nose of the car is the reason the rear gets so light and comes around off throttle. In my one video you can hear the nose scraping pretty bad and its really not that low. I'm also getting ready to change the gearing completely.

I think you've got the right idea there, add some weight to the rear when your running season comes back around.
I remember with some of my cars that when I'd let off and hit the brakes the front would scrape some.

Not sure if or when ill run this car again, but I couldn't leave it sitting bodiless when I have a huge pile of bodies leftover from an auction. Found an old high speed body and painted it a few weeks ago. Recently I've been in building mood so I tinkered with it a bit more. Just felt like sharing what she looks like now. It still needs work the way it sits but it looks better now. Looks faster sitting than it ever went.

I highly doubt they still make those type bodies. But I haven't looked. In not even positive who made it. It was not in a package I just put the protoform sticker on it.

Nice. Im gonna check the bay to see if there is something similar, the thing looks wicked fast standing still. Legendary because of the associated paint style...

Most all of these old photos missing was when I tried making an RC car folder in my photobucket. Others pruned as I got rid of the car. Some I just keep private.
